i have the 2023 i'd.4 on a lease and can honestly say i'm counting down the days until this car goes back

one of the worst cars i've ever owned, technology is very poorly designed and frustrating, countless recalls and range is mediocre at best.

there are many more comparable options when it comes to EV. Chevy Equinox being one that is also very well priced.

My personal opinion would be to get him a used car if he or she a new driver. Cheaper insurance and less fear of damage. Damaging a leased car is going to be costly. Not meaning to offend or anything, just providing my own experience as an ex-college student.

Might want to consider a used EV instead. Model year 23 one owner vehicles under 25k should qualify for an additional 4k discount. the lease deal looks to be 10k per year for mileage. Prices exclude taxes and fees. I have an id 4. Can't say I would recommend it

My apologies for hijacking this thread, but why do I see some folks here mentioning that they only carry liability only insurance because they own the car outright?
I mean, isn't it risky, especially if the car is still relatively new?!

FWIW I have an offer to roll all taxes, fees and down payment into a monthly payment of around $215/month, nothing else due. Still debating if I'll be ok with a range of 206 miles. Most reviews say the 2024 is a big step up.

I don't understand the hate here. We leased the first Edition back in 2021 - we have 90,000 miles on it, no issues - great German build quality - no issues whatsoever. One of the best cars we have ever owned and we were previously a Honda only family for decades. No, I'm not ever going to use it to race best super smooth drive. 240-260 mile range depending on how I drive it. Only issue we've had is the awful charging infrastructure- but at 3 year free charging when we got it, we could live with it. We fast charged every day for the 3 years because of how much we drove and I saw range go down by maybe 5 percent. We loved this car so much, it convinced us to buy another VW despite my previous hesitation with 'VW reliability'. We have a Pro S 1st Edition. We've joined every ID4 Facebook forum and the majority of people love theirs. We leased ours originally for $420 monthly during the the 2021 car shortage so.

Not sure about ID 4 but I had been driving a vw e-golf from 2020-2024. Absolutely the worst car I ever had. That e-golf is the reason why I no longer want to wait for the ID buzz.

Yes but if he has accident will be super high . And even when first adding him to insurance it will be super high. You can lend your vehicle to anyone. Technically if he lives with you he has to be added to your insurance

insurance on a leased car tend to be higher and combining it with with a young driver will just make it wayy more higher on the insurance. Get a used 10 year old toyota or honda and you should save a lot more $$

Lease hacker is not showign this deal anywhere. Do you mind sharing dealer/location, any more details on all up front costs and all fees? Is it usually about 2k for tax/title/reg/lblah.
