i have the 2023 i'd.4 on a lease and can honestly say i'm counting down the days until this car goes back

one of the worst cars i've ever owned, technology is very poorly designed and frustrating, countless recalls and range is mediocre at best.

there are many more comparable options when it comes to EV. Chevy Equinox being one that is also very well priced.

My personal opinion would be to get him a used car if he or she a new driver. Cheaper insurance and less fear of damage. Damaging a leased car is going to be costly. Not meaning to offend or anything, just providing my own experience as an ex-college student.

Might want to consider a used EV instead. Model year 23 one owner vehicles under 25k should qualify for an additional 4k discount. the lease deal looks to be 10k per year for mileage. Prices exclude taxes and fees. I have an id 4. Can't say I would recommend it

I just got 2024 ID4 S trim for $175 / 36 months, 10k miles, 0 down. All fees included in monthly payment. Overall experience with this dealer very nice. They're usually selling to locals though. Fred Beans VW, ZIP 18902. I think they have still one white ID4 S left and one black ID Pro S. They sold 3 today (including mine)
Do you mind sharing MSRP and the rebates you got ?

Went in to try to replicate this deal today.

Walked out with a ID.4 S trim, MSRP of $47k.

Paid $1,750 down, $200/month with taxes and doc fees included. Residual at the end of 24 months is $27k.

Money factor is 0.00001 (0.02%).

This car is perfect in this particular situation for us. Less than 10k miles a year and the house produces excess solar. It's not the right car or deal for everyone. I looked for a dealership with a lot of inventory (40+ here) and went for it.

Editing to add: The taxes and fees were quoted as $50 more per month, so the $149 would have been $199 if following the original lease for the Standard trim.
How much discounts/rebates you got?

Just test drove the ID.4 and holy smokes what a disappointment, especially from a German car maker. It feels like a first wave electrical car rather than the nicer second wave of EVs the rest of the market produced. All other EVs I test drove (Chevy Equinox, Chevy Blazer, KIA EV6) were much nicer. The ID.4 had a cheap feel to it, it was making noises coming from the plastic in the dashboard where the screen is attached. The driver screen is miniature. The software feels like an intern project with no animations, odd color choices, strange picture background and no intuitive controls. The regenerative breaking does not work well, it basically only has one level that's very light. The cameras were all very poor and the angels odd. Even the windshield had some bending it it that distorted the view on the right side. This was not even the base but the pro model. Cannot recommend.

Good point but not a new driver, been driving for 3 years, actually has a car at home that we are using, but at this rate it would be cheaper than shipping the car twice a year out of state.
But in reality going EV would be hard for someone living in an apartment in a red state. Need a similar deal for ICE car.
Yes because, in a blue state they give you a free, paid for by our taxes, gas driven generator to put in the trunk. That's only if you can't charge the battery at a coal fueled electric charging station....

Previous owners don't seem to like this car. As others have pointed out, there are similar lease deals for better cars that come around occasionally. I just leased a long range, dual motor Ioniq 5 SEL for $162/month (4k due at signing). It's a fantastic car. I've owned a model 3 in the past so I at least have that comparison point.
This is a pretty uninformed opinion. The car was refreshed in 2024 and they got rid of a lot of the complaints of previous versions.

Good deal considering that VW includes a 4 year warranty with 2 years of scheduled maintenance with the car. Much better than the 24-month warranty VW used in the 2000s. Shouldn't need any additional repair cost given the warranty lasts longer than the lease.

I assure you, it's been known for decades in America that German-built cars have sub-par build quality in favor of cost saving, performance, weight reduction, etc.
Absolutely. BMW is really bad.

I'd add a link but it would probably get deleted. Go to leasehackr marketplace and look for user ChevyCoach's listing. I had mine shipped from their dealership in the Houston area.

Yea right, tell it to the owners with HW3, they will never get their FSD fixed, design is dated, despite all this Tesla delivery went down this year.
There are many Tesla forums in slickdeals, how you ended up here?

1. When I walk into my dealership the staff know my name, stand up and greet me. If everyone pays the same price then no one got a good deal.
There are actually inventory discounts all the time on individual cars. You just don't have to negotiate to get them, they show up on the website.

Quote :
2. AA and CarPlay are definitely not gimmicks. How is it redundant? Tesla's software doesn't have Siri. It doesn't have Apple Maps. It doesn't have any of the software I use. I don't want a similar app. I want control to stop using something because they made a change I don't like. IF tesla's software really was better they would just include AA/CP because they would know no one would use it. The only reason to not include it is to control the user.
As cars become more and more software based, you are going to find that trying to integrate carplay/android auto holds back features from being implemented. It's impossible to write holistic software to run a car while also depending on whatever it is apple and google are doing with their software. You only notice this in Tesla's right now because they are so far ahead.

Quote :
3. I do not believe that for a second. If they really improved cars they already sold then they would have added CarPlay 2.0 already. Instead all they offer is a non-functional, non-transferable self-driving feature that costs more than this VW's entire lease.
There are very long lists of features that a 2 year old Tesla has received since it was first sold. This is always the case. It's one of their selling points. But if none of that compares to the importance of integrating with your favorite cell phone company, then it's clearly not for you.

Wait for the new Bolt or Model Y. Don't do this.
