i have the 2023 i'd.4 on a lease and can honestly say i'm counting down the days until this car goes back

one of the worst cars i've ever owned, technology is very poorly designed and frustrating, countless recalls and range is mediocre at best.

there are many more comparable options when it comes to EV. Chevy Equinox being one that is also very well priced.

My personal opinion would be to get him a used car if he or she a new driver. Cheaper insurance and less fear of damage. Damaging a leased car is going to be costly. Not meaning to offend or anything, just providing my own experience as an ex-college student.

Might want to consider a used EV instead. Model year 23 one owner vehicles under 25k should qualify for an additional 4k discount. the lease deal looks to be 10k per year for mileage. Prices exclude taxes and fees. I have an id 4. Can't say I would recommend it

Excellent price. Is it possible to share your invoice? One of my local dealer may be willing to match.
@lixx0376, was actually asking @PaweP to share the invoice and confirm their purchase but probably got downvoted by them. 🤣🤣

I had a 2021 first edition and I totally agree. I've never hated a car more and I was thrilled to be able to get VW to buy it back during peak used car prices in 2022.

As someone who has owned a 2022 ID4 for 1 year I will let you know why this was the best EV I ever owned. It was during the height of the EV rush and because the Model Y was selling well into the 60s at this point I didn't think the Y was worth 15k over the ID4.
I was able to pickup my ID4 order from an out of state dealer and drive it back home. From mile 1, the AC would only work from the passenger side and not the driver side. I scheduled an appt when I got back home and to keep the story short, despite multiple times at the dealer and many times for weeks at a time, my ID4 still had AC issues a year later.
So why was the ID4 the best EV car I ever owned? Because I was able to get VW to buy this piece of crap and since the issue started day 1 I was able to get reimbursed every penny I sent on this car. So I got to use the car for free for a year but most importantly get out of this car when EV values were tanking and get into a model Y after all the price cuts. I've had the model Y for almost 2 years now.
I know there have been some arguments about Tesla vs other EV cars but I will say this as someone who has owned both. Electrify America is absolutely terrible (another VW product...) and literally the main reason of me getting a Tesla over anything else is because on all the roadtrips I have gone on their network just flat out works. If you want to even consider using an EV car on a roadtrip get a tesla or wait until more brands release their newer models that can use NACS.
If you will literally exclusively use your EV around town get the ID4 as that will work fine for you, as long you you don't have any issues with the car. Also keep in mind besides the charging network, the technology in the ID4 is literally a joke and childs play compared to other EVs. Their mobile was non functional, carplay took ages to boot, dont get me started on even simple things like how to operate the rear windows.
Someone did mentioned on here about how Tesla doesn't have special batteries. They don't, but what they do really well is make efficient use of the battery through many methods which is why I get much better range compared to my old ID4 even though both use a very similar battery pack capacity.
For my specific purpose use-case, you couldn't give me an ID4 for free to use.

I would not recommend EV for new drivers, as a non-lethal impact could end up with explosive fire from batteries.

Hybrid CR-V isn't cheaper, though. You can get a model Y for around $37k before taxes and fees (with the federal EV tax credit). EV tax credit probably going to get deleted this year, though.

Plus, I can fully charge my EV at my home for basically 1/4th the price of gasoline.

insurance was actually cheaper for my Model Y than my previous vehicle which was a Corolla. Liability only. Full coverage, 100% it's going to be more expensive just because very few auto repairs know how to repair it.
Doesn't the tax credit only apply to people below a certain income limit? IMO it is very hard to qualify for the tax credit if both partners are working.

Thanks. In Bothell and interested in the deal. Did you get univ audi to honor the exact deal as posted?
How do the tax credits work on a lease if your income is above the threshold?
Thanks again

I got the ID4 S for $2k down including tax and fees, and $149 a month for 10k miles a year for 2 years
Can you confirm the fees breakdown? Obviously taxes will vary by location.

Good luck!

I researched EVs for quite a while before I settled on Tesla Y 2023. I even pre-ordered ID4, but I cancelled my order. Here is my reason.
You don't choose the car alone, but the system. An EV without good charging support is limited only to around-town driving. I'm in LA, I have no problem driving up and down Califonia and to Las Vegas many times. Also Tesla recent auto-plot is very good. The previous verisons were barely usable, but the current one has a lot of improvement. I let it drive me from LA to Las Vegas without interventions during Xmas.
That being said, if you just want to try an EV and have an around-town car, ID4's cheap lease price is not a bad option.

Limit is $300,000 for a married couple- nearly 4 times the median household income in the US- so not terrible hard to qualify.

And if you ARE over the limit you can avoid it by leasing, then buying out the lease-- this removes all the limitations on income and vehicle price.

(THAT said- be sure and check the terms- most companies let you buy out the lease early AND pass through the value of the $7500 credit in full by this point, but not all of them).

There are a ton of these in maryland. Maryland requires the full sales tax be rolled into payments and taxes again if buyout, so anyone looking to register out of state, its worth the trip to get one.

You think the majority of American spouses in a household are earning above $299,999 AGI?

That's fine for a 2023 decision, but now you can use a NACS adapter so it doesn't matter which EV. Volkswagen gets enabled in June 2025 for charging on Tesla superchargers. So not a long wait.
