one of the worst cars i've ever owned, technology is very poorly designed and frustrating, countless recalls and range is mediocre at best.
there are many more comparable options when it comes to EV. Chevy Equinox being one that is also very well priced.

You don't choose the car alone, but the system. An EV without good charging support is limited only to around-town driving. I'm in LA, I have no problem driving up and down Califonia and to Las Vegas many times. Also Tesla recent auto-plot is very good. The previous verisons were barely usable, but the current one has a lot of improvement. I let it drive me from LA to Las Vegas without interventions during Xmas.
That being said, if you just want to try an EV and have an around-town car, ID4's cheap lease price is not a bad option.
I am looking to lease 1 in SF Bay Area.
Any lease deal you got quoted or you already purchased recently can share? PM me please!

Congratulations on getting the deal!
Where are you located? And were there higher versions for a comparable increase in the price?
But the best case for an EV ownership currently, with a limited charging network and the existing network not well maintained, is a suburban family with a garaged home. In most cases if it's a income family then the AGI would be about that range perhaps. Besides that an EV also makes most sense as a second car for local driving.
This is a good deal if one can get it from some dealer. Otherwise there are quite a few ICE cars that are bigger and cheaper than the MSRP of this car. So most people will gravitate towards the cheaper options for outright ownership.

A model Y would fall below that big time after the EV tax credit.
In terms of EV ownership, if you own a house, it makes zero sense not to own an EV at this point for the obvious benefits.
Tesla superchargers are very well-maintained.
I can't speak for EA and Chargepoint because those suck but the efficacy of Tesla superchargers are almost always working.
As for the AGI, sorry bud. Unless both working parents are working in tech, lawyers, work in finance, or own their own business, they are not pulling in $300k AGI. Most Americans will qualify, period.
