This literally is new..... Came out like 2 months ago.
Stop supporting them. Get a 9070 or rx7900. No difference on gaming
This thing is a beast. Worth buying for anyone doing a new AM5 build.

I'm here in solidarity with you. My 5800x3d is plugging along just fine and I am not ready to deal with new motherboards and ram!

However, AMD just keeps making BEASTS and any one creating a new build needs to jump on this one!
Yup. Also funny is Newegg has the 7800x3d only $5 less.... pricing is weird right now. But my 5700x still holds up.

While it is likely to be a thing... DLSS 4.0 Multiframe gen is my specific critique in this post to claim NVIDIA is offering a huge step up in performance. I can GUARENTEE that playing on a 5070 with 2 generated frames per real frame isn't going to feel the same as a 4090 with 1 generated frame. NVIDIA is lying about their performance by a lot. I will bet money that the 5070 is worse than the 4070 ti super when using standardized testing.
Yeah I agree; there will only be select scenarios where the 5070 is hitting 4090 performance. There is definitely a marketing spin being put on the benchmarks. That being said, "standardized testing" is going to apply less and less when every single game supports DLSS and Frame Gen.

I have a 4090 and I went from a 12700K to 9800X3D. The difference is mind blowing in games. In CPU intensive games like Squad, Call to Arms, and Escape from Tarkov, my FPS nearly doubled. The 9800X3D is definitely faster than the 7800X3D, but the upgrade may not be worth it for most. Don't listen to people telling you that at 4K it does not make a difference. There are CPU intensive games where you will be bottle necked, especially if you have a monster card like the 4090. I am gaming at Ultrawide 1440p (3440x1440).
4k, and upcoming OLED monitors it will definitely make a significant difference. Anything above the 9800x3d not so much. But honestly its a niche market, we are talking about high end gaming. Not systems for the avg gamer.

I had a 7800x3d build, very high scoring with the ram i had paired it with and OCd the ram. I had to sell that build due to move. Bought a 5800x build, and guess what i get the same performance because i just do 1440p or 4k gaming. I felt so dumb having spent so much time on finding the ram, OCing etc. Lmao but on the bright side i sold it at a good price, it was paired with a 4090. So unless you do 1080p or a very cpu intensive game like msfs (which my msfs is only a few fps different) save your money. I know we all want the very best, but that's a trap
This is very misleading. What games are you playing? There are a ton of games (Squad, Call to Arms, Baldur's Gate 3, Escape from Tarkov, etc) that will still see improvements at 4K and 1440p. I play inbetween at ultrawide 1440p (3440x1440) and going to 9800X3D was a game changer for me. My old CPU (12700K) was a major bottle neck for my 4090, even at 3440x1440.

Multi-Frame Generation is only usable in 5000 series which is what those high outliers are that push the 5070 to "4090 performance" the Nvidia slides have the conditions of the tests (in almost the same color of the background) The ones that don't have the multi-frame generation mode seem to be 20% better than the 4070. These are cherry picked stats too.

Standardizing the frame gen is still going to be critical even if you believe DLSS 3.5 style frame gen is going to become the norm. 1 generated frame vs 4 generated frames is not going to play anything close to each other.

Are you flagged by Amazon? Do you return items frequently? Just curious because I ordered mine and it's still pending too, but it's sold by Amazon.com
As a test, I ordered the Amazon seller one AND the shady Chinese seller option. The Chinese one got cancelled, the Amazon on is still pending Smilie

I got this from Amazon during their first run, and it's made an immense difference for me coming from a 4-5 year old chip. Paired with an ASRock board, 4080 Super and higher end memory. Also have a stable over clock on the cpu and ram. Highly recommended if you can swing it.

I just checked my Amazon order list after seeing your comment, and it's scheduled for this Thursday.

I did, found an open box rx7900xt at Micro Center for $450. Paired nicely with the 9800x3d.
