It's better to buy it from straight talk website directly since you could get better cashback (12% currently) from some cash back site. Also some chase card give 25% cashback for straight talk (capped at 15).

That can bring down the effective price to 204. (You still have to pay tax on 249 though)

A bit more than the previous deal after taxes+fees but similar overall.
I purchased it last time and consensus was that you need to purchase the silver plan at minimum to get this price. Only need to buy one month of service. Wait another 30 days (60 days total) then the phone will be carrier unlocked.

It's not $50 higher than BF deal.
It's $40 higher than BF deal since this only needs $35 plan but the BF deal needs $45 plan.

The deal experts here on Slickdeals have fine tuned this procedure to a science, doing it thousands of times.

I'm guessing your Walmart employee doesn't have the 10,000x brains of expertise we do.

I'm going to give you a tip. The people in this thread have more intelligence in their little finger than the smartest Walmart CS on earth has in their entire body.

You can bet your life on the fact that only 30 days of service is needed. Even if a billion Walmart employees object.

So "good luck" yourself as you pay for an extra month you didn't need to, just because you fell for something an uneducated Walmart employee made up.

I was able to buy at Walmart.com for $249 without having to buy a service plan. I will upgrade my current phone with this one on TotalWireless using the same plan I have now.
