ONN Brand external SSDs which had recently dropped from $100 to $50 are now $37.50 on clearance at some Walmart locations. The link is the product description, the deal itself is in store, and as mentioned in the title, likely to be "YMMV".

NOTE: Much like the WD_Black D30, this drive does not play "current generation" games directly, you must first move them to your device's internal storage. The advantage provided by these drives is that you move content on and off of your console much faster than a mechanical SSD. This is also convenient for users with data caps, as you can plug the drive in and get updates downloaded when you have bandwidth to spare, and then have a fully updated version of the game ready to play once it is moved to internal storage.

The device can be reformatted to Windows or Xbox. Xbox Series X does not immediately recognize the drive out of the box with the default PlayStation formatting, but reformatting it on a Windows computer will make it readable to the Xbox, where you can then format it to store Xbox content. You will have just under 933GB of space after formatting. This is not very time consuming at all, and I have attached photos providing a brief outline on how to do this.

I myself do not have much experience with ONN brand products (Walmart's "house brand") beyond a 20,000 mAh battery pack that kicked the bucket after being depleted once. Fortunately, at this price, you can purchase an extended two year Allstate warranty (they acquired Square Trade) for a mere $6.36. If you purchase with the same credit card you have on file with Walmart.com, the warranty will immediately appear, and alleviate any issues in the case of a lost paper receipt.

As usual, once you are done using it for any particular system, you can simply format it for another, or have another 1TB of external SSD space to use with your computer. While not as immediately convenient as the Seagate and Western Digital "expansion cards", these have far more utility in the long run.

Happy New Year!

Looks like $50 is the current price unless the store has marked down further. Still a good price.

I never had luck with YMMV Walmart deals. Either stores don't stock them or the employees bought all of them.

Just save for an internal, and go for at least 2 TB. Trust me. It's not worth dealing with this. They keep dropping in price, too.

I need to replace my hard drive anyway, I think it has some errors, what do you recommend for PS4? I installed RDR2 and I had to delete all my other games. LOL. Massive game.

Our Walmart still has a huge stack of 500 GB Onn drives on clearance for $65... on top of the case with 2TB drives for $62. Granted, alleged-extra-high-speed SSD vs HDD, but still, those things aren't gonna move until they hit $20.

I'm not sure when it comes to ps4 these days. I'd probably go for an ssd if the ps4 can benefit from it and support it.

tried to dumb it down for commenter since he believed that by buying a drive and storing data on it locally it gets shared to onn
