I got this for free from Epic Games. I did not realize how good of a game this was. I would have played it years ago. I'm a sucker for "System Shock" style of games. The game that inspired BioShock (the 2023 System Shock remake is really good too!). Prey is that style of game. Horror/Exploring/First Person Shooter. Upgrade weapons, perks, and manage a load out.

The game has multiple endings depending on how you play. Your actions have consequences.

You can play the game in SO MANY ways. It's absolutely brilliant. I found solutions to problems where I wanted to pat myself on the back. You can upgrade perks to hack doors... but you can stack boxes & other items laying around to find another entrance to that room/door. Or there might be heavy items blocking an entrance. There's a solution to that too. I don't want to spoil anything else. There are things the game does not tell you that you can do. But with clever thinking you can do things the game encourages you to do by thinking outside the box. It's a really awesome game. I've been gaming for so long & I have to admit that Prey is a game to remember.

still have to play the DLC for it. I hear it is a really well made DLC. Like its so good it could have been an entirely other game. I guess Prey didn't sell as well as it should have. The game can get glitchy at times. Maybe when it was first released it had a lot of bugs/glitches but was later fixed with updates. It's a shame because it's in the tier of "Bioshock" in terms of video game brilliance.

Really great game and which sadly did not get the attention it deserves. Very polished mechanics, and the story is surprisingly good for a shooter.

I was looking here, excited to see the 2006 game available again.

Nope.

It'll be interesting to see how threads like this go when someone releases a game called Prey again in 2027. I predict it'll be a cartoon game set in the 1920's.

If you want the full experience and don't have it on Steam - get the Deluxe version (80% off) that comes with the Mooncrash and Typhoon Hunter DLC) and then add the PREY: COSMONAUT SHOTGUN DLC for $0.69 and it's a little better of a deal

But you should definitely snag this if you play PC games. I played on GamePass (Xbox) and was amazed at how great this game was.

This game is great. If you enjoyed Dishonored and the like, you'll enjoy this single player game.

That game was really good, I bet it still holds up.

(I'm sure it is on My Abandonware if you really want to play it)

Amazing game. It scratches that Deus Ex/Bioshock/System Shock itch.

Loved this game. Wish I could play it over again without knowing the reveal. Same with Bioshock...
