I've had one the last 6 months, love it. Bought two more with this deal. Others have better battery life; but for weight, UI, and brightness on turbo... great for my dog walks and traversing the woods. So lightweight I completely forget about it on my head.

so it sounds like the battery life isn't that great? can this last a 2-3 night camping trip?
I have 2 of these and I got to say the battery life is pretty poor. Unless I have it on the moon or low setting, it won't last through a single dog walk. Low is enough to light the path when walking in semi dark areas and moon is enough to not trip over anything in complete darkness.

I own two of these Sofirn HS10 (different color temperatures) and have run in one it a few times. It's fine, but despite being small it has enough weight to bounce a bit since it's a simple around-the-head band without a stabilizer going over the top.
Thanks!

Can the light be angled in the headband? It's not clear from the description. I want to get this for someone who does crafts, and she would need to be able to adjust the angle of the light.

I just ordered one HS10 with two extra batteries to compensate for short run times.

I also ordered an HS40 with an 18350 short tube and two 18350 batteries. The HS40 is more expensive but looks well reviewed on 1Lumen. Even picked as the best budget light for 2024.

I am concerned about the weight of the 18650 battery on my head, which is why I went with the short tube option. Many places online saying it ships with the short tube included, but I added one to my order just in case.

When it arrives I'll have to compare it to my Petzl Tikkina's.
Edit: Sofirn contacted me after placing my order and told me the short tube was out of stock. It's not clear if it comes with one by default (mixed reports of this) or if they intended for the HS40 to even use the 18350 short tube.

Kind of a bummer since I think the 18650 battery will be rather heavy for a headlamp. I'll probably see if I can pick up a short tube elsewhere. Website says delivery takes 14-28 days.

Wondering if this could take a larger mah battery like this: https://www.amazon.com/CPZZ-Recha...B0CKT1DL6R as this might 3x the runtime.

Yes it can be angled and it's great for projects.

Just wanted to add that I own an H25LR for dog walking at night and it's excellent. Basically same prices as their Black Friday deals
I have 2 of those and use em way more than I thought I would. Fantastic light.

Is the H25LR considerably better than the one listed here?

May be able to get it cheaper on aliexpress. When you say you want red light this thing will put it out. so bright you can hike with the red and you get the bonus that is also has white LED. Big thing that those that need night vision mention is that you do not have to step through white mode and ruin your night vision to get to red. Interface lets you jump right to red.

I have one of these, would recommend! It was a big step up from my old 3 AAA Remington with redlight. I like them for camping and fishing alike.

I really couldn't say. The reason I picked it aside from reviews is you can switch to red light

You have to decide on what works better for you. One light can be better at some things and worse at others. There are always tradeoff and sacrifice made when you pick anything useful yet you have to make the choice.

Less weight is nice and less tiring but you give up runtime and lumens. Small is better sometimes and other times not but again you give up runtime and lumens.

Having said that I actually think the HS10 is nicer in fit, finish and build and kind of screams quality more than the H25LR does. I have a larger 18650 headlight of similar fit and finish but am switching out to the HS10 as I like the light weight. The other light is just as good or better at some things but not as good when considering weight and size.

The H25LR is still nice but not as polished. Another thing to consider is that the H25LR is heavier and bulkier but has much longer runtimes and higher lumen output with added benefit of the a red mode. I do believe that the H25LR is not even a true Sofirn product as it is listed under the Non- Sofirn section of their website. None of that does means it is not be a good product and still may be the better light for your particular use. The choice is yours. You can see plenty of videos and reviews of both models on Youtube.

The headlamp I bought that exceeded my expectations was the Energizer x1000. I was wary but it works really well, is well made and includes a 1500+ mah battery (as measured by my charging station). It's better than it has any right to be with Energizer logo.

it's on sale at Amazon right now. I was looking at this op post because it resembles the x1000.

Maybe someone else has posted the x1000 deal already
agreed...x1000 has nice flood pattern with no hotspots and comes with the 18650 cell and is my go to head lamp. only con is that the switch is not recessed and can get pushed inadvertently leading to a dead lamp.
