Self emptying or bust!
2100 pa suction power vs 5500 pa suction power
"I will sell whatever I make money from" company vs a Robot vacuum company
I've been using roborock q5 pro since October. Originally bought from their ebay store as a refurb unit with 2 yr warranty, but it looked brand new and does an amazing job.

Pros:

Great suction (5500 pa) for both carpets and hard floors.
Duo rollers keep hair tangling to absolute minimum.
Removable dustbin is large enough and convenient to empty (no auto empty).
LiDAR mapping is amazing. Multiple floor maps can be saved. It navigates obstacles (e.g. fuirniture, etc) well.
Good battery capacity: a 45 minute cleaning job consumes 16% battery
App is easy to use. No-go zones and virtual walls are easy to add. Can be connected to google assistant or alexa, but I haven't tried connecting yet.

Cons:

Limited mopping function. Drags a wet pad across the house. Does not height adjust based on floor. So I don't use mopping on this unit.
No auto empty for those wanting this feature.

Is this good for a house with dog hair? Can someone please confirm 🙏🙏
Bought for our 2 Aussies and it has been amazing.
Do have to empty the bin every other day
Also, found I need to check and clean the rollers and brushes after a couple weeks. They are very easy to pop off and remove the wrapped hair.

Yeah, but it is really worth the extra $150 just for the bin?
No. Heck no.

I just set this vacuum up yesterday as we too bought it on the Black Friday sale. I have been highly impressed by how well it picks up little crumbs from our extremely dense, yet lower profile, area rugs. I have zero complaints especially considering the price.

Is there any advantage of buying it on Amazon vs Manufacturer website?

Just bought a 2nd one. Bought the refurb deal on eBay & had the 1st for a week. Extremely impressed for the price. Not planning to use the mop. Picks up cat hair & litter with no problem. 2nd will work great for my cabin.

Probably easier to return through Amazon.

I've had different models, one with the mopping feature and one without. The first model had the mopping feature but I never used it because I was to lazy to map out my home on the app. The second unit I bought did not have the mopping feature, no need for it. I have it run everyday because I have kids and pets in my home. I do have to empty the bin everyday and remove the roller brush every other day to clean the hair that gets tangled in it as well as the 3 arm spinning brush. I dont mind doing it. I am curious about this unit being advertised because it has dual rubber rollers instead of a single roller brush.

My home has tile floors, wood floors, and carpet that my robot cleans everyday.

The price on this unit makes it very tempting. I still wouldn't use the mopping feature.

I tried it and wyze at the same time. Returned roborock and kept wyze. Much better software and cleaning.

This is shocking and honestly seems like it should be the opposite. My Wyze is terrible. I ordered this as it should be a nice upgrade. This one has twice the power, a better roller, larger bin, and the software should be better than the Wyze.

received the robot two days ago and used it quite a bit. I would say this is better than the Ecovacs Deebot T8+ that I had. Cleans the carpets better due to more suction power. It got tangled couple of times on the cables etc that needed manual intervention. but that is likely expected. I was able to create maps with rooms nicely. Google assistant setup was pretty straightforward, and I can say hey Google , Clean the kitchen, and it cleans and mops the kitchen. Of course, mopping is not that great, it just drags the mop. I came to buy the second one for downstairs but saw the price up by $20 Frown

I don't think I would want to pay the extra $200 for auto-empty, because I will require cleaning up the brushes etc. and I can just empty the dust bin anyway during that time every now and then.

How does this compare with the Wyze robo vacuum going for $99 right now?
Wyze is much better and made by US company.

I disagree. So if anyone is curious, try both. Also, Wyze has an office in WA, but everything is made in China. Their support isn't great either, all that appears to be outsourced, when I have had to reach out.

There are also companies no longer recommending Wyze products such as CNET, New York Times, PCMag.

Comrade, you really do not like great US product. Wyze makes an excellent product for the price and quality.

Now repeat after me:

- The Tiananmen Square massacre is an embarrassment for the Chinese communist party.

As a Wyze vacuum user, have had two over a year, I would not buy it again. This Roborock should be a huge upgrade to that Wyze vacuum. Lots of issues with it.
