A 45% NTSC screen is like having a small box with only a few basic colors. Sure, you can still draw, but your pictures won't look as vibrant or detailed as they would with a full set. Here's the deal:

Colors look washed out and kinda meh

Dark scenes are more gray than black

Movies and photos lose their pop

It's a no-go for anything involving serious color work

Basically, 45% NTSC is old tech that's mostly used in cheap laptops to keep costs down. It's not the worst thing ever if you're just browsing the web or writing documents, but for anything else, it's pretty underwhelming compared to something else in this price range.

On a 16" laptop too. Then they wonder why they have to put configurations like this on clearance to get rid of them lol.

It's 1200p, think that's fine enough. Can always dock it with a monitor too.

I just received mine. Screen looks really nice to me, but maybe I'm not picky. I've been putting it through some testing, and thermals seem good with cooler boost enabled. Cooler boost is indeed loud, but no issue while wearing headphones. I'm actually loving the laptop, especially since it is not much more expensive than some 4070 or even 4060 models.

HOT HOT HOT as a desktop replacement with external monitor.
Only better deal was Helios 18 for 1450 with a 16" 100%srgb 1440p 240hz screen.

Go to YouTube and search "45% ntsc comparison" on your any flagship phone from the last 5 years (ie phone with a Good screen that does 100% srgb..so iPhone, Samsung S series, etc)

Video will say a 1000 words that technical explanation can't.

Anything above a 4060 is not worth it in a laptop, not much difference.
The percent difference between a 4080 and 4060 Ti desktop is about the same as the laptop chips (roughly 30%). The difference isn't mindblowing, but for this price, this is a pretty solid deal for a 4080 laptop and it will definitely perform above the lesser chips.
