Just FYI these are not impact-rated even tho they have that "look" ...
3/8" drive
If you want to remove axle nuts, go for 1/2" drive sockets.
Considering things corrode, and not all shops take the time to properly torque, I'd say on many occasions in rust/salt belt, you're looking well beyond 200ft-lbs.

I also sat and watched a rookie mechanic at my local shop get his ass chewed out for using a filter socket (that broke) as he was trying to remove an axle.

It all boils down to "can you?" vs "should you?"

Nice deal went ahead grabbed the set. Missing two sockets at the low end compared to icon but one bigger one at the large end. This is a good deal.

Any other uses? They look enticing, but I don't have a car using this kind of filters/filter housings.

At the end of the day, they're just compact large sockets. If you want an assortment of larger sockets and don't want them to take up as much room as full depth ones, you could use these, but they're just typical oil cap sizes.

It's tools and it's under $30 which even though I only have one vehicle that I help my family work on that uses them you know I bought a whole set. Also seems slick if you need a low profile large impact for whatever reason.

That is the problem. For bolts that big, the 3/8 drive won't survive. I am still trying to figure out alternative uses.

I'm not sure, but I think the plastic oil filter housing cap on my son's 2010 corolla 1.8L has a 12 point area of pretty small diameter which the 24mm socket might fit? Every time my son goes to valvaline they way over tighten the filter and I literally cannot remove it and am forced to get the oil changed at a shop.

Good catch, sometimes those black sockets may give people wrong impression as impact sockets

Vehicle hub bolts get into this size range. Also, there's a very good chance one of your future vehicles will have a plastic oil filter in this size range.
Axle nuts are often torqued to 200 ft-lbs+ and many times have a detent. These will not withstand that type of force. You want a deep-well impact socket for axle nuts.

Something more like this (not that I'm a huge fan of Tekton):
