I understand and appreciate your paranoia about having our data monetized but the main reason that places offer a discount for ordering online or in an app is because it has zero labor cost. If you order in the store or over the phone, that takes a (relatively expensive) human away from whatever else they are doing. In businesses like food, labor is one of the highest costs of doing business.

Taking an order over the phone or in person scales linearly. For each person you want to be able to service at the same time, you need one human employee. An app or website scales its costs much more favorably.

This is the real reason why restaurants give you a discount for ordering online.
50% off and a free medium 2 topping emergency pizza. That's a slick deal.
I don't understand, so you don't order pizzas ever then? And you don't use a phone? Or the internet? Or a computer?

This! This is like the bogo crazy combo deal from little Caesars. When you look at the final price, take note. They give you the penny more to pay. It is not exactly half off.
Example, I ordered a feta spinach pizza at $17.49. When using this deal, it blatantly states above the price you pay "you saved $8.74," but you are paying $8.75.

I feel more happy that I finally found this out rather than the deal itself. How does Domino's defend themselves stating this?
$9.50 for a large 9 topping (pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage, beef, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, black olives and Provolone cheese) is nothing like the crazy combo pricing. You can also sub out the toppings to your liking.

Great deal. I compared and it seems I save between $1.50 to $2.00 compared to my regular deal of 'Buy two items or more for $6.99' each.

You can easily switch between the coupons from the Home page to see for yourself.

yea if you are buying 2 medium pies with 0 to 2 toppings, this 50% deal is not a deal.

Id like to try this on a specialty pizza I haven't tried yet. What do you folks recommend?

Don't forget to sign up under a new rewards account for an emergency pizza.

Also this pairs nicely with my $75 for $100 in dominos gift cards Costco had awhile back.

Tho with my gourmia pizza oven, (another Slickdeal) paying for pizzas will soon be a thing of the past. Anyone have suggestions with where to buy pizza dough ?

At my Dominoes, their all year round 2-topping large for $7.99 / $8.99 is better than 50% off deal (which has been offered for at least the past 2 months under the coupon list). 50% off is only a good deal, if you like no toppings. Some specific numbers are below:

0 Topping Large -- Sticker = $17 (50% off = $8.50)
1 Topping Large -- Sticker = $20 (50% off = $10)
2 Topping Large -- Sticker = $23 (50% off $11.50)

Your pricing may differ, but I'd encourage you to compare to the other options, such as 2-topping large for $7.99, rather than just assume 50% off must be your best option.

the emergency pizza offer is only one per account per promo period, just FYI if you already gotten it in past several months

They cut it down to 1 Topping for $7.99 for our area.

Not a good deal in my area where a 1 topping regular price is $21.49 which is outrageous for chain pizza. The $5.99 or $6.99 deal is MUCH better

Online/app only is a no-go. They are harvesting your data and selling/monetizing it obviously. Otherwise the same pizza you order online would be the same price in-store or phone order etc.

If you're schizo about them harvesting your Pizza data, then use a burner phone, and a burner email. That way the the advertisers will only know that John Smith at 123 main street likes pineapple on his pizza.
