I just bought the CRP-MHTR0309F, which looks similar to this one, but it's a 3-cup version and has induction heating. It was at the lowest price ever, but now out of stock. I've been using Zojirushi cookers for 20+ years and never thought you could get a better rice cooker, but the quality of the Cuckoo is over-the-top. It was delivered just yesterday so I've only cooked one batch of rice in it. I used the high pressure option and it came out perfect in half the time of the Zojirushi. These even have a "Super Turbo" option to cook rice in 10 minutes. Hopefully the Cuckoo lasts as long as my Zojirushi cookers, which never die.

I'm gonna guess Induction... Cooking...? It isn't induction, which means it doesn't heat as fast... can someone confirm?

I'm also curious... WTF is Twin Pressure and how does it cook faster using Super Turbo? This isn't a car... This does have Fuzzy Logic, so that's neat

Therein lies the rub... I'll probably have the made-in-Japan ZCC10 I just got earlier this month for the rest of my life heh

That said, this being a pressure cooker, it can/will definitely cook rice faster. Ease of cleaning looks to be pretty similar - both units have removable inner lids & non-stick bowls.

Made in South Korea, FWIW.

Hello, I am looking for a rice cooker for my elderly mom that can make the rice softer (if that makes sense) so it's easier for her to chew. Do you think there's a setting on this that might make that possible without turning the rice into porridge ? TYIA.

IC means longer cooking time but better taste rice. Pressure cooker, less cooking time. Not much different from instant pot basically

I suggest simply adding a little more water to make the rice a little softer in your existing rice cooker. There's a big spectrum between "al dente" rice and porridge and I'm sure some experimentation while incrementally adding a little water can get you the texture that your mom prefers.

Pressure rice cookers will produce a softer rice, so that's what you want.

Probably not worth getting the higher end zojirushi which has "my rice" settings, but that's up to you.

Add a little more water.
