To put it short and sweet, the dose makes the poison, that's how toxicity works, even water can be unhealthy, even deadly in large doses; as for the gum? The amount of aspartame is so tiny you'd need to eat an insane amount of these, per day, for several months to even begin having an issue, if any, meanwhile gum with regular sugar will contribute to cavities and in sufficient quantity, weight gain.
