These are so stupidly awesome, but they still won't charge a gaming laptop yet with only 140W PD. If you don't need that, these are pretty much unbeatable.

Which gaming laptops accept USB PD at all when the necessary power envelope is above 140W? That's a short list.

I'm not sure. I just know about my laptop and the PD shortcomings. We have a long way to go before it's standardized properly for the masses.

With usb-c I look for 90/100w pd to power cpu-intensive work, which monitors like this provide. For gaming, you will either need 180+ to power a 100w+ gpu in addition to cpu, which requires the laptop power brick, or a low power gpu like a 1650ti that can max out at 100w but won't power a resolution like this. I have a similar LG 5120x2160 monitor and run my work comp off usb-c pd (works great), and have a 4080 laptop hooked up via hdmi or dp with its 330w power brick. Usb-c PD will not realistically power a gaming machine capable of 4k+ 120hz.

I agree with all this. However, I've heard people saying the 230W Lenovo TB4 dock powers their gaming laptops properly. No clue if it'll do my Dell. Probably not.
