Great time to stock up. Sell the chargers if you have some already!

I wish they discount the battery for electric mower.

They've got to be making room for a new line or something. The Kobalt 24V deals have been insane lately. Paid $79 for a 2Ah battery, 4Ah battery, 24V Sawzall, and a casestack storage case last week.

Maybe a new line, but I suspect they're clearing out holiday inventory.

Yeah. I am firmly entrenched in Ryobi 18v with almost a dozen batteries and tools and small collection of Milwaukee M12. I had no plans to get into a 3rd line but here I am. I got two of those starter sets. So now I have 3 tool boxes, 4 batteries, two chargers and a impact wrench I don't truly need lol.

how many 18650 cells would these batteries have? Would it be worth it to sell the charger and "shucking" the cells to get some 18650 for DIY projects? I assume the cells would be good quality.

That is exactly what I do with 24 volt batteries when I can gent them under $20. There are 6 cells in this kobalt battery. Great for my Milwaukee and the cordless vacuum in the house, battery rebuilds!!

Very good deal. Prices have really been dropping lately on cordless tools and batteries.

This is one of those times when we may all be benefiting from the cheap Chinese brands. They're undercutting all the big name brands, and additionally making power tools compatible with their batteries.

They have six cells inside the 2ah battery. Not worth it to "shuck" when you can buy loose cells for a dollar or three

https://www.18650batterystore.com/

I've also refurbished one of these 2ah batteries using loose cells from the site above. Cost $12 in cells, but you'll need a spot welder, nickel strips, and soldering iron/skills.

I have a 4ah battery on my bench to refurbish, but the twelve cells in that package are harder to remove/install.

The Kobalt 24V 2Ah battery is on sale for $19.98 without the charger until January 22. The 4Ah is $39 under the same sale. If you don't need another charger and don't want to bother selling it, these batteries are still available at decent prices.

Tempted to get a 5 of these for an e-bike. Making or finding adapters for the batteries is pretty easy, and this is a pretty good price for 2Ah at 18V.

Or I could disassemble the packs and sell the chargers. Getting 6 18650 cells for $20 is a pretty good price at $3.33 per cell, and anything for the charger is a bonus discount.

I'm into the same hobbies. Your ebike is 120 Volts? Google "Kobalt Hot Wheels Adapter" to find the piece you need. But by the time you add up the prices and need to charge 5 batteries at once.. you might be better off just looking for a scooter ebike battery with appropriate bms. By all means get 5 for various projects but i'm skeptical of using 5 at once! That's sketchy high voltage!

Went to my local White Lake (48383) Lowes and they were marked $39, no sale or clearance. Went to checkout and rang up $39. Assistant checked the web site I had pulled up on my phone and adjusted price to $19.98.
Thanks OP!
