Meh, 1gig LAN ports.. Also considering they are pumping out WiFi 7 routers, the price of 6E routers should continue to go down.

I'm looking for a replacement router that has range to reach my yard with ease. I'm running Fiber 600MB up/down. PS5 streaming. What are your recommendations?

You shoudl google dong knows tech - decent reviewing and you don't have to sit through any youtubes

With that said, for your needs, this router is about as good as they get right now, it's just that you could probably get something a lot cheaper too.

I've always been torn between a really powerful single router, vs 3x Eero 6E Pros at each corner of the house (wired with Ethernet).

It seems like having a single powerful router is more "simple" than the potential of channel interference with using multiple mesh routers.

I second Dong Knows Tech site for fair comparisons. Here is the link to his review of Netgear AXE 11000 (RAXE500):https://dongknows.com/netgear-nig...er-review/

Bought two older models and they both crapped out in the same month and refused firmware updates (via web gui)

I am avoiding Netgear stuff for along time

It depends on your setup. If a wired backhaul is possible, you can simply purchase an outdoor access point (AP) device along with a decent router and install the AP outside. If a wired connection is not an option, mesh routers are a good alternative. As others have suggested, Dong Knows Tech is a great site for up-to-date comparisons of these options.

I think the sweet spot is having a powerful router combined with multiple access points to cover the corners, provided a wired connection is possible.

That's how I feel. I just returned the Eero this week. Didn't see much different from AT&T provided router

i just bought a used one for $250 plus tax a month ago... so far no problem. it's an overkill router for my house since i don't play games and rarely stream 4k contents. and i only have one device, quest 3, that supports 6g lol.

What is even a use case that requires 2.5G for 99% of the comsumer?

For what it's worth, I work with several media editors that are fully remote and pull down 8K 120fps files from the storage server and reupload when complete. And another guy that does drone shots for NASCAR and other big firms that has a 5 gig plan.

But to your point, MS teams, zoom, even Steam can easily get by with 1 gig.
