Isn't this just an angle grinder? Is there a difference?

I was afraid of that. It shows available for me as there's limited stock in my metro area. I'm thinking this deal might be very difficult to find. Sorry about that!

It says out of stock for all of my stores. Is there still a free way to check in-store inventory online?

It's all good. This is an older model I believe, white box.

Here is another very YMMV deal but excellent if your store still has one.

I have no idea what you'd be sawing with that thing. 1/4 ply?? The blade is tiny and I also thought it was an angle grinder at first.

And the thing appears to have an angle grinder arbor style attachment . I suspect there is a very narrow use case for this as a saw, but as an angle grinder, it might be useful. Especially since it has a paddle switch vs rocker switch.

Wood flooring.

In general, this seems like a universal "when nothing else seems to fit" tool.

I think it's more officially a "cut off tool".
There's a lot of gray area in my mind between an angle grinder and cut off tool, and as a DIYer I don't need a cut off tool, but there are definitely situations where having the vertical aligned blade would be very nice to ensure its straight...such as cutting pipe or bricks as random examples. However actual grinding with a cut off tool is probably hard.

Reviews are pretty bad on this one. Reviews complain that it does not take standard 4" blades and has a small 7/16 arbor so you can only buy the kobalt replacement blades. It looks like it could be useful for sheet metal if you had a quality metal blade.

I was looking for one of them for a while but ended up finding nothing but bad reviews that they just die.

Just Kobalt blades? I don't think that is true. Dremel has had it's Ultrasaw for years. This is Kobalt's take on that and has same size blades. Ultrasaw blades or generic compatible versions should also work.

I was just summarizing the reviews. It looks like abrasive metal disks are likely available. Not sure about the wood cutting blades. Normally the reviews are pretty good on the Kobalt tools but this is not.
