The roguelike nature and VERY slow permanent upgrade progression can lead to feeling you are not accomplishing much but that being said I still got 6-7 hours of fun out of it. So far I have only made it to stage 4 out of 7. Haven't played in a while but haven't uninstalled it from my Steam Deck either.

Space combat and exploration is very satisfying. For $1 seems like a great deal, think I paid $2.

*Note, for the most part I really dislike roguelikes so me playing that long should say something.

This game would be sick if you owned a VR headset.

Thanks for the VR suggestion. I'll check it out.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The combat reminds me of Freelancer - arcade-y in a way that is satisfying. It doesn't have the "open world" aspects that made Freelancer so cool, but if you just need to scratch the space combat itch it's absolutely worth a dollar. I think I paid $20 back in the day and felt like I got my money's worth.

Bought this at $1 last sale and it's so much fun. Roguelike elements work well and are pretty fun once you get over the grief of blowing up your beautiful ship. Upgrade your base items before your ship whenever possible. I'm buying the 2nd one today even though it's pretty different.

This is one of my favorite games ever. Well worth the tiny cost asked here!

For about $2.50 you can get the base game and the DLC expansion pack -- the deluxe upgrade one appears to be just things like wallpaper and a soundtrack, no game content. Plus it's from GOG so no DRM bullplop, and I don't have to give money to Valve and indirectly support their shitty moderation policies that let abuses like the Veilguard and Stardew Valley forums go completely unchecked.

Don't sleep on the EXCELLENT sequel to this one either. More looter shooter, but absolutely gorgeous with a great story to round it out.

The VR performance of this game was terrible back when I tried it, I don't know if they ever improved it. Pretty much the only VR game that I found completely unplayable. The non-VR version is fun, though.

Great game, I got a lot of mileage out of it. I'm generally not huge on roguelikes, but the permanent progression kept me engaged for quite a while.

At this price it is a STEAL.

If you like a more traditional trade/fight/explore space game the sequel is very good.
