The price is worth the 6tb of onedrive storage alone (1TB per person up to 6 accounts). Having permium office is just a bonus. You also get a licensed version of Teams. Which allows you to hold group meetings for 30 hours. All free versions of teleconferance software limits you to 1 hour for group meetings (zoom, meets, teams).

VPN is not like having a second ISP. Most reputable VPN providers do not store any activity data (NORDVPN included). It's for anonymous browsing. Protecting your data when on public wifi that is potentially sniffable. Bypassing country restrictions for a number of use cases. And more.

Telling people to VPN "for privacy" in the same breath as pushing One Drive is laughable. Also, what are you doing on public WiFi that is sniffable exactly? Anything sensitive should already be encrypted en-route. Using a VPN literally just funnels *all* of your traffic through 1 route, so anyone wanting to sniff what you were up to would just have to intercept that 1 route (and either try to decrypt, or do packet correlation of the traffic going through the VPN, to match up the unencrypted packets in/out of the VPN server and your connection).

Signal has no such limits on meetings, and it is free (and encrypted, and not tethered to the MS subscription ecosystem). Teams is bloated crashware; it's 2025 and video capture and playback is still a struggle when my PC from 15 years ago could do it without dropping a single frame.

Because OpenOffice is a f*cking joke to anyone that really knows how to use Excel. Excel is the single greatest piece of software on the planet. If we woke up tomorrow and Excel didn't exist, it would cause a greater global financial crash than if a nuke was dropped directly on the NYSE.

what bugs of ms word are you talking about? care to list a few? you dont have to pay annual sub to use ms word. its free for everyone. just go to office465 site. the annual sub is for sync and cloud data storage.

libreoffice or openoffice "writer" version is horrible. they use diff fonts to view the doc. most of the time the "view" format looks totally diff on what its supposed to be designed for

In general, any of these deals that don't have the required auto-renew can be stacked up to 5 years, so you can buy 5 bundles and add all the O365 codes to your account for 5 years worth of service. The auto-renew versions are "managed" by the store or service you bought it from and generally can't be stacked beyond the current year. Plus it's a hassle to get them to release your account from their "managing" it.
