Those weights are usually listed as a perfectly stable and spread out load. A 300lb person sitting on a shelf would probably break it, but 300lb of bricks laid out evenly would be fine.

Do you think this would be too top heavy to support, move and operate an old Berkel meat slicer? I've been looking for a solid cart for slicing beef for Jerky. I just noticed an Amazon warning this item is frequently returned.

My sister in her restaurant uses a tool cart from harbor freight for hers. Wide and stable, has plenty of storage underneath and cleans up easily. Was fairly cheap with coupons.
May be something work for you too.
