More to the point, this is a really solid little speaker. I have used it almost daily since I got it. That being said, I have owned a ton of Bluetooth speakers and audio equipment in general. Do not expect this speaker to be the end all, be all of portable speakers. If you don't need this form factor, it can almost be a hindrance to grabbing it over a different form factor. It does get loud but you will notice a significant drop off in bass at the highest volumes. Not just proportionally but it actually almost seems to legitimately pull power away from the bass radiator. Maybe this will be improved with updates over time.
If you can get it for $40, I say it is probably very worth it. If you know that you will use it as a clip for outdoor stuff, $50 is a solid price as well. If you just want a good Bluetooth speaker experience on the cheap, I have two speakers I've found under multiple brand names that stereo pair and can be regularly had for ~$10 each on AliExpress (a site I typically avoid as a general rule of thumb but rolled the dice on these). Stereo pairing those two speakers gives a more immersive and enjoyable experience and the quality is crazy good for something that cheap. JBL is reliable and has app support as well so just understand that this is a good little speaker and don't expect it to perform at unrealistic levels and you will be happy. However, there are other, fantastic options available out there for the same price, or less, so unless you NEED this form factor, I would encourage you to browse around before pulling the trigger.
