I've been using one for years and like it. Blade changes are quick and tooless. Variable speed helps out on different materials. A wide variety of blades are available. If you are already in the Bosch system it's a no brainier.
If you aren't already in the Bosch system...I wish I would have gone with Rigid or Milwaukee. The Bosch tools are all high quality, but when the time comes that you want an oddball or lawn maintenance tool, Bosch either doesn't make it or it is hard to find and stupid expensive.

This is a really good deal, OP. I don't need one, but I checked and there is fairly good availability in-store, at least around me (max of about 4 units at any one store). One other note - looks like Bosch is offering a standard 5 year tool warranty on all of their entire 18v line.

I have a bunch of dewalt and Milwaukee batteries, wonder if picking up one of those adaptors on amazon to work with this is a good idea

So true - I needed a nailer, and ended up getting a Dewalt on a good deal - a year later, Bosch finally dropped a few models, but too late for me. I hate having 2 battery systems, so I bought a cheap leaf blower that also uses Dewalt and a battery adapter

I just snagged the Bulldog hammer drill also at $49.00
I have no Bosch batteries only Dewalt, Kobalt and Skil. If no deals on Bosch batteries come around I'll buy an adapter. $16 on @mazon with decent reviews

I own Milwaukee lawn tools. Not all of them are winners IMO. I went with EGO for lawn. However my tools are mainly Milwaukee M18/12 and Ryobi with a few oddball tools and batteries because I prefer value than loyalty to an eco system.
