This was $844 on Black Friday. Lower price may return as M4 MacBook Airs come on the scene in the next few months (at least according to rumors)
this is the best deal you can get today, but if you don't need to buy today, it might pay to wait a bit

It probably will. I had my M1 Macbook Air for 3 1/2 years, including a year-long deployment to Kuwait, using it in the worst conditions, and it was still going strong when I traded it in. After a few years, though, I get the upgrade itch pretty bad, whether I need it or not.

Agree it should last 4-5 yrs. without any issues. I have a 2020 MB pro and its still works fine. My biggest complaint is the battery life. i think i get 1-2hrs on it now. That is the biggest dropped in battery heard of. I don't know if this is normal for other laptops. Even new i don't think it was getting anywhere closed to the so call 10hrs. battery life. Now my dilemma is get a M3 air or pay several hundred to replace the battery.

Need some advice: will the m3 and m4 be a large enough upgrade to pay extra for the m4? I've been rocking a 2019 non m1 for a while but also want to save money. Not sure which m# I should go for

Depends on what you do. I will say m3 over m2 is for sure worth it, but the increase from m3 to m4 was much less of a jump. Hope that helps.

Anyone have 256gb model? Is it enough? If they had 512GB at this price I'd be all over it

After switching from m1 air I've noticed quiality downgrade, most striking keyboard. The chassis itself is thinner and hollow. You can flex the metal between keyboard and bottom with two fingers.I only like brighter screen, otherwise, previous design feels much more unique and interesting.

m1 is awesome laptop. I swapped because of sale + trade-in. My m1 was showing signs of use after 4 years (keys all glossy, battery degraded).

FWIW, I have 2 M1s and a M3 in the household and they're great. M1s are still going strong and the M3 is fast and the difference in form factor is nice as well. I picked up the M3 last November for $950, so this is a good price in the right direction for buyers.

Is 256 enough, thats subjective and depends on your storage habits. Between flash drives, SSDs and wifi network storage, they work for us. Lightroom library's will eat up even 512, so external SSDs are the answer for my other MacBook Pro with 256.

Can also combine with 20% off for new Star Card applicants if purchase is made on/before Jan. 23 (military only).

Only Apple has the audacity to have 256gb on a computer in 2025. Greed can make people do what not 🀣
