Agree it should last 4-5 yrs. without any issues. I have a 2020 MB pro and its still works fine. My biggest complaint is the battery life. i think i get 1-2hrs on it now. That is the biggest dropped in battery heard of. I don't know if this is normal for other laptops. Even new i don't think it was getting anywhere closed to the so call 10hrs. battery life. Now my dilemma is get a M3 air or pay several hundred to replace the battery.
Laptops and phones used to all come with removable, aka replaceable batteries. But this was not good for user surveillance or planned obsolescence, so Apple and everyone else started using non removable batteries.

Back in the day it was possible to buy a spare battery for your Samsung Galaxy S3 and pop it in when your main battery went dead, no problem.

Not a bad deal but this model was $844 brand new fairly recently
I missed that. It's not the M3, but the M1 model.

looking for 512gb minimum capacity, does apple drop prices typically in march after they release the next generation of macbook airs?

It's crazy to think that the starting storage on MacBooks hasn't changed in a decade. 256gb has been the standard since 2015 🤦
Why should it? There's people that don't need lots of storage, why should they pay more for something they don't need? Apples giving us plenty of configurations, if 256Gb is not enough for you, they have other configurations that offering more storage.. stop being cheap, pay for what you need. You complaining bout not enough storage goes to show you don't know much bout anything, now that's something to complain about…

Obviously he means pay the same for more storage. It is absurd that Apple storage and memory upgrades cost more than literal gold in rates

This was $844 on Black Friday. Lower price may return as M4 MacBook Airs come on the scene in the next few months (at least according to rumors)
this is the best deal you can get today, but if you don't need to buy today, it might pay to wait a bit
Don't forget tariffs coming?

Apple Refurbished on Apple.com has the same model for $829.00. I have bought a few items from Apple.com that are refurbished and they are like brand new.
No, they don't.

Apple refurbished has the previous M3 8gb/256 version for $829. Or, they have the older M2 16gb/256 refurb for $899.

As per rumour, M4 MacBook Air is expected to release around Spring 2025. Is it worth to wait or M3 is good.

My usage is word, excel, powerpoint, web browsing and videos

Why just order an EBay replacement battery for $45 and swap it out in 2 minutes yourself. Oh, wait…. Apple.
