Few years ago I got these for $65, but then there is inflation so it must be $95 now. Unfortunately wages don't go up that fast.

I generally like Amazon Basics stuff, and it's usually decent quality. That said, I bought this same luggage set in black a couple years back. The medium and large suitcases each had their handle tear away after only a few uses. Good price, but you get what you pay for on this one.

Weird. Got orange ones about 4 years ago and they get beaten up and still work great. Got the orange ones. I wonder if the quality depends on the color/where it was made. I love mine and I also got the set for $65

im guessing alot of it had to do with the variables in temperature. I live in Florida and these were stored in a hot shed (still in the factory box unopened) for over a year. However, I do keep a Samsonite purchased from costco (in that same shed) that gets used every 4 months on a cruise and it is as strong as the day i got it.. When i went to pull the Amazon ones (stacked inside each other) out of the box the handles crumbled like cheese with literally no resistance.
