Why are you saying this? It's the opposite, they are selling overstocked motherboards and memory by bundling them with a highly sought after CPU
The 299 bundle is great place to start a new build. A 4060/7700 XT (or even a 4070) would be a great pairing for a pretty sick sub-1000 PC
What?? They are doing this because the 9800x3d is selling like hotcakes and they can get rid of crappy MOBOs and RAM kits by bundling it to customers who dont know what they're buying

You can actually substitute any motherboard or ram you want. The price will differ but when I got mine they were ok with it. It is a good deal

Their official policy is that they no longer allow this so I wouldn't count on it.

Picked up the 9700x bundle a couple months ago. The Gskill RAM doesn't play nice with that Gigabyte mobo when using the EXPO profile. Wasn't a big deal to me. It works fine on the default profile.
Set memory to expo profile 1, Set memory context restore to disabled. woot

This is a known bug on ryzens. They need MCR disabled. Boots slow, but runs faster and more stable.

The gigabyte is pretty good, the Asus boards are bad. Mad

For anyone buying the bundles, get the upgraded gigabyte board. It has more vrms, if you go to 16 core in the future.

Lol they're worried they may have overstocked their 9800x3d..
Yes, the price scalpers finally getting burned.. but if trump tariffs cause major backlash it will be the consumer with the last laugh when demand finally gets destroyed and wholesalers get burned with warehousing costs

Consumers won't have any laughs, it's not like there's an alternative company/ country to buy CPUs from.

We'll just have to pay higher prices. Frown

I predict major boycotts coming, NOT massive bending over for 25- 100% tariffs.

The 20% is already passed, anything higher I don't think the market can take, that's probably just political banter.

Most mfg at CES delayed pricing until June whereas typically they announce pricing or a range shortly after...

whats wrong with msi tomahawk board with the 9800x3d deal? I dont know what you can and cant change in a bundle any more but if you click bundle with it, they do seem to allow changes. Im not sure those are great deals with the changes though. Im thinking about the msi and then picking a cl30 memory?

Odd pairing for the 9800x3d combos. You either get old motherboards, or a really expensive 870e motherboard which costs more than the 9800x3d and has features most users won't ever use. Since the 850 based motherboards just came out they probably don't have enough of them to pair them up with a combo.

Guess if I were to complain.. I wasn't able to stabilize ram (AMD Expo) out of the box, to the advertised ram speed of 6000. I was playing helldivers 2 and it was super jittery until I lowered it back to default which is 5400 (I think).

Lol I don't know if it's worth messing with things in the bios and risk screwing shit up when it's working perfectly now.

But if I'm bored, I'll do it one day with this guide
