This deal is somewhat misleading. The image shows Premier but TT Premier is $64.99
Same price at Amazon except you get a $10 Amazon GC instead of the $10 in-product credit. I'd say the Amazon gift card is much more valuable.
That dark blue font is horrible to read on mobile. Yeesh

Deluxe federal and state at Amazon not showing $10 gift card
The sale price ended, was $55. and now it is $45. 🤔

glad my instinct was to wait even as the countdown timer showed 1 hour left.

There was a $10 gift card on some of the versions. I believe Fed only had it. but, not deluxe fed + state.

I'm never using the desktop product again. The online version doesn't recognize last year's desktop return and so it's not stored online
That's exactly why some people use the desktop software. However, you can easily upload a copy of the prior year's return to TT online if you want to switch back to that product.

Several now have the $10 GC on Amazon.

Thanks. Just saw another post on it. Had to delete the copy without the GC to add to my cart. I get at the time the $55 was a deal. I get how it works. Still annoyed that the price went down after the limited time sale plus now $10 GC. 🙂

I had it in my cart too. I could see the one with the GC only by searching for TurboTax 2024 Gift Card, weird! I was betting on Amazon lowering the price to match Sam's and Costco's sale. I decided to buy from Sam's (with CB). I can use the $10 credit for state e-filing.

FreeTaxUSA will not let you import from brokerage accounts. That's a deal breaker for me. Others may not need that functionality.

All 3 are the same price; Amazon, Sam's, Costco. Difference is $10 credit versus GC.

FYI IRS Direct File is free for federal starting 2025 for select states
Can't find any info if it will allow importing from stock brokerage accounts

Direct File doesn't support brokerage imports, but you don't have to report every trade - can just do it in aggregate, which isn't that much work. Here's info from H&R Block about this:
https://www.hrblock.com/tax-cente...chedule-d/

FreeTaxUSA , OLT.com, Cash App Taxes, all support a lot more than Direct File. But if Direct File does what you need, it would be good to support that program so the IRS will continue to develop it.

FYI. I bought the Premier at Sam's. Then I upgrade to home and business. Cost was $15. Used the $10 credit and saved $6 on the home and business over all WinkBig Grin

Premier $64.99
Home and Biz upgrade $15
Used $10 credit
Total $69.99

Home and biz from Sam's is $75.99

Yeah, that's not very smart; lots of companies get data breaches, and the worst is having the crooks having your tax returns. If you don't have any personal assets to protect, then it doesn't matter.
