im not a heavy reader so screen doesn't matter much to me. my issue is that I can only read for 5 min max on my mac/iphone/ipad, and then get easily distracted by other apps/alerts. but i can focus on reading when using kindle. i think im probably not alone. although i prefer 7" screen size.
for people who take notes frequently while reading, i agree this is a good option.

Just bought this deal a couple of days ago sending in my $15 Kindle I bought of of mercari for the 20% off. Seems like a great deal but I'll see about the functionality when it arrives. Not really an amazon fan and was trying to decide between this or the Kobo elipsa 2 but for $210 I couldn't resist.
I take notes in my ipad and omg the endless tools it gives my besides converting handwriting to text conversion. Recording, transcribing, linking to other pages, color, music, automation…
edit: nevermind I see that it does have the paperwhite screen but I feel like a device of this size and price should have a micro sd slot. Missed opportunity
