Hmm I've always assumed round is not as convenient as more squared off surface and this one doesn't come with a wire grate either.

Not sure what you mean by a wire grate but there is an elated crisping tray that is removable. It's perforated to allow air circulation, Have an older version of this works great going on 5 years old.

A lot of em come with an additional grate hat resembles that of a charcoal grill. It works much better for things like bread or some meats imho.

what is the cheapest one of these with a metal interior so i dont have to deal with that game of manufactuer saying it doesnt have BPA but it actually has BPA2.1230424

I have the same concern and put my food on foil. I know the air circulation isn't the same, but I don't have to worry about that.

Not sure you're using it right then. It's completely different than a toaster in every way shape and form.
