I've been pretty dead set on picking up a non-OLED 98" or 100" in the next couple weeks but this is super tempting. Going in a dark basement with no lighting issues so low end OLED would be totally fine. Tough call.

I've been pondering this very dilemma. Tough call. Luckily I'm too poor to have to decide.
My 2 cents would be on your seating distance. If you're sitting far away, go with the 98/100. If you're closer, go with the smaller OLED. You'll have an amazing theater experience either way. Enjoy!

I'm 9-11 feet depending on which seat so I'm still leaning towards the 100". But it's pretty much a toss up. Sitting at same distance now with a 65" and it's ok so 83" OLED would be a huge upgrade.

Imo, if you're 10ft+ away, you can swing a 98/100.

That's an easy call if you ask me. Once you go OLED black you never go back (to LCD).

Don't forgot to shop with Microsoft Edge browser for an additional 6% in Bing cashback on LG.com (on top of the discounts and promos and credit card cashback). Sure, you won't see that money for 3-4 months, but it's an easy $135 ;-).

Same dilemma. have 75" for almost 6yrs now and contemplating 83" oled or 86 samsung or 100" Hisense. my sitting distance is about 15 to 20ft away. i want to do it right so i don't have to buy another one for another 5yrs. we actually don't watch a lot of tv and when we do it's mostly youtube or netflix. no crazy 4k content or anything like that just whatever i can stream over, youtube, amazon or netflix. any suggestions. i like the fact that you can get a 100" Hisense for probably around $1500 but my 1st hisense purchase 5yrs. ago was a nightmare. TV would not turn off with the remove and i had to move all the crap around the plug to unplug it so it would turn off. after that i swore off Hisense ever since.

Personally sitting that far away, I would want 100". If it makes a difference, keep in mind the 100" Hisense is ~150lbs, the 83" OLED ~70lbs.
