"The TCL QM7 is a very good TV for mixed usage. It looks fantastic in a dark room thanks to its outstanding contrast, with highlights that stand out in HDR content thanks to its excellent HDR brightness. It's also suitable for bright rooms due to its amazing SDR brightness and decent reflection handling. The TV's fast response time means there's minimal blur behind fast motion, so it's great for watching sports, playing video games, or for use as a PC monitor. It's a great option to pair with current gaming consoles and PCs due to its modern gaming features. Unfortunately, the TV isn't well-suited for use in a group setting due to its rather narrow viewing angle. It also isn't a good fit for anyone who cares about color accuracy in SDR, as the TV is disappointing in that regard."

How is upscaling on this model? Is the QM8 worth the extra $$$?

Have it and the sound is pretty good. Has upgraded speakers and built in subwoofer. Have a sound bar for it, but still haven't hooked it up because the TV speakers are good enough.

The TV holds up well with games, movies and shows. I had to change a few HDR settings on a couple TV shows because the colors became too much in certain scenes
The amazon link didn't work for me though it could be a "just me" problem

I purchased the year 2023 model "TCL 55-Inch Q7 QLED 4K Smart Google TV (55Q750G)" which I believe is a "cousin" to this TV and have been very happy with the performance and picture quality so far for the 7 months we've had the TV.
One really strange experience I had with my own though it could be a "just me" issue.. the class 6 TCL TV I bought way back in November 2019 connected without any issues to our 2.4 ghz wireless connection ... for some strange reason our newer year 2023 TV hates the 2.4 ghz connection but happily connects to the 5 ghz connection in our house and streams TV shows without any issue which is really strange given the distance of the TV from the router and fact that the year 2023 TV reports the 2.4 ghz connection as being "good" but the 5 ghz connection as being a "fair" strength/quality connection.. this was definitely not the case with our year 2019 TV. Having said that TV is functioning just fine despite this odd quirk.

I purchased this TV at Best buy last week. After reading reviews I decided to pull the trigger on the qm7. When I got to best buy the qm7 and qm8 where displayed next to eachother. The qm8 definitely looked brighter and more colorful. Being that I had my mind set on the qm7 I went with it not realizing the qm8 was only $200 more until I got home and didn't feel like returning. The sound is very good I almost thought my soundbar was connected and had to put my ear to my soundbar to see if it was on.
The pictures is very good along with the color. Do I regret my purchase not at all the TV is awesome for the price but I do wish I realized the qm8 was only $200 more in store because I would have went with it.
Yes, honestly surprised how loud and full the speakers sound
