For fun I decided to look at my order history for bowl prices:

2015: $6
2018: $6.40
2020: $6.30
2020: $6.50
2022: $7.50
2023: $8
2024: $8.40
Depends on how you view it. The Cub Meal comes with the least amount of food for the price if you look at it based on calories, which is a better indication of how much food is included.

Based on my local Panda and these prices / points / calories

Cub Meal - 850 points, $7.20, 740 calories
Bowl - 1250 points, $8.90, 1130 calories
Plate - 1500 points, $10.40, 1640 calories
Bigger Plate, 1750 points, $11.90, 2150 calories

Cents per point (higher is better):
Cub Meal: 0.85 cents/point (Best value)
Bowl: 0.71 cents/point
Plate: 0.69 cents/point
Bigger Plate: 0.68 cents/point

Calories per point (higher is better):
Bigger Plate: 1.23 calories/point (Best value)
Plate: 1.09 calories/point
Bowl: 0.90 calories/point
Cub Meal: 0.87 calories/point

That Cub Meal comes with a fountain drink that contributes to the calories as well.
I was gonna get this with their bowl for what I thought would be a decent deal but just checked their prices and the bowl is now NINE dollars before tax! (for regular, NOT premier items) and the bowl is small. And this free small entree is tiny. I remember when the bowl was HALF that price. The only good Panda deals are when T-mobile Tuesdays have them like once a year.

I love getting their chili sauce.
Also, I need ways to get 850 points because the panda cub meal is the best roi for the points. Yes, I have not spent my points since accumulating them for this reason and have been hoping they do not expire. Lol.
Edit: It was 8:00 a.m. EST as of 3 minutes ago and I see an offer to unlock a monthly good fortune AFTER I order something. How do I know I am going to get something?
Edit Edit: It is about 9:45 a.m. and I was able to get the game. Thanks. The offer expires on 2/9/2025
Best suggestive item to buy: Orange Chicken with 510 calories, followed by Beijing Beef with 480 calories.

funny how they call something way smaller than a "bowl" or a "plate" an "entree"

according to the cpi inflation calculator, $6 in January 2015 is equivalent to $8.10 in December 2024, so that $8.40 number is pretty much right in line with that.

if it's $9 now, that's bit more than it 'should' be, but not outrageously so, and a free small entree more than makes up for it.

This coupon seems to work for entrees that have an upcharge. Tried adding a beyond orange chicken ala cart, which is $6.9 and took that off. I didn't wanna pay extra to try the beyond orange chicken but w/ this coupon, will give it a try just out of curiosity.

My location apparently doesn't even sell small entrees, only medium and large. If I switch to another, the small shows up.

Yay got one, thanks.

..annnd my location seems to have discontinued selling "a la carte" (aka individual entrees and sides), As well as dessert (apple pie roll), all the "appetizers and more" section, and catering.. All four of those options/panels have a line under them claiming: "Not available at this store. Change location." wtf.

This is definitely new, because they always previously offered everything. Here's to hoping it's temporary, but it might be the new norm for the new year? I had a coupon for a free small entree with purchase of plate that expired last Friday, because I couldn't redeem it, due to this "not available" bs. At the time my guess was they failed to have the little boxes in stock (fast food places always having delivery and ordering failures), but now that it's been several days plus someone above said they had a similar situation with the small size.. here's to hoping it's temporary because it's ridiculous.

$2.4 to $3 more than 9 years ago, within the span 10 years, our money has 40 to 50% less purchasing power. But the government keeps handing out money and ever more quantitative easing. People who are retiring now must be stressed out, their hard saved money are worth significantly less than expected. But let's keep handing money out….. I can still afford panda
