Please note, the base game and Aiko's Choice were both previously free on Epic games.

Valid question, I shared it because I know (or at least think) I am not the only one that grabs all of the freebies from Epic, Prime, etc., and quickly forget what I grabbed and when or where. Having recently updated my PC after 7yrs I am revisiting all of the PC licenses I acquired in that time to see what I actually have and was surprised to see I already "own" it. Or perhaps I am the only one that is in that boat 😊

I am playing through the base game right now on my PS5. A very challenging stealth game that has reignited my joy of these types of games. The game is heavy on stealth and using combat sparingly as dying is easy....and frequent. If you've previously played or heard of the Commandos series of games, this is very much in that vein. You control a number of people during the course of a mission and navigating and planning their moves and contributions to the success of the mission require a mix of planning and a lot of good timing and luck. Your plans can quickly go sideways if the enemy is alerted to your presence as they quick converge on your location. There is a generous quick save option as well as dedicated saves to help things. I personally don't like repeating levels and sections of games, but this is part puzzle game where you need to figure out the best approach to succeed and it has certainly kept my interest. Not a game for everyone because of the challenge and that need to potentially repeat sections as you figure out the best strategy.

Yeah, I played the original Shadow Tactics, and this one, and also Desperado 3 by the same studio. I love the genre, and this company did an amazing job with level design and graphics. Like someone else said, both the Shadow Tactics games were given away by epic in the past.

Why do people bring up that it WAS free at some point in the past? How is that relevant? There is no way to get the game for free NOW... A lot of games were free at some point on Epic, but that's only IF you happen to claim it during the short window of time.

No, I'm with ya. I check Epic every week and Prime occasionally (Prime gives you some leeway so you can just "collect em all" periodically, as opposed to Epic where you have to be on em like white on rice).
I do own this game from epic, but I just thought it was odd almost like people were saying this price wasn't good because it was once free (for a super limited time ...4 years ago lol).
My epic library is filled with free games I never play lol

I played this for a little while.

I personally couldn't get into it. But it seemed like a great and really well done game for people like this style/genre.

Because most of us who have been paying attention already own the game on Epic, and letting us know saves us from an unnecessary purchase. Clearly.

If it's like commandos, I ll like it. Sometimes it got so hard that I dropped it altogether.
