Not sure if there is any truth to it but TP-Link is being investigated for Chinese Govt spyware. Just on that alone I would pass on anything by them.

Comparing to this listed or model I think it's better to buy this one even though it's refurbished/renewed by Amazon as excellent condition for $10 more

i have two of these systems, have been extremely pleased with them over the past few years. both were purchased 'open box" from amazon

Heard the same and it's disappointing, hopefully it gets cleared up for those with one of their products
