How do these compare to the DT770 PRO 250 ohm?

I've had these for 2 years now (i think) and they're well worth this price.

I liked these better than the 990 Pros which had little to no bass.

The TYGR has bass, not overdone leading to a very full sound that doesn't fatigue you. Imaging and soundstage are very good too imo.

I completely agree with this! I own a half dozen dt770s I use at my studio at all different ohms. They are fantastic for isolation and tracking in a recording studio.

When it comes to gaming, since they're closed back, they end up kind of shoving the sound into your ears (ear fatigue). The lower 80 ohm version has much better low end, but less hi end detail. If you end up going for dt770, get the 80 ohm. Also, the 250 ohm has the silly coiled cable that always gets caught on things and isn't long enough.

The Tygr completely surprised me, I picked one up for fun. It has all the detail you could want, a MUCH better sound stage from the open back, and adequate low end. ZERO listening fatigue. The only reason to not get a set of Tygrs is if your listening environment is loud, you hear literally everything through the open back.

Haha it honestly blew me away, for the price I got it at $145ish refurbed.

Even now it continues to surprise me when I watch stuff or game with the detailed sound it outputs. Sometimes i catch myself looking around the room for a sound I thought I heard in the room but was actually from the media I was consuming.

One thing to consider is that your ears sit very close to or against the drivers. I'm small and my ears touch the drivers. It doesn't hurt but every now and then I have to pull the cans away from my ears.

Nice. I've always liked the feel of Beyers. Does anyone have experience with the Sennheiser PC38X and can compare the two?

N00b here, but, as a gamer who's continuing to appreciate higher and higher quality headsets, I have to ask: what do you use for a mic when you use these? They don't appear to have one built in.

I use an elgato wave 3 on my PC but really any standalone microphone works.

What is your opinion on having a removable cable? Obviously it means it's easy to replace the cable if it gets damaged, or you can buy a different length that matches your needs. I assume with a studio you'd potentially run into both of those scenarios, are those benefits overblown?
