Well, I bought this last month for $320. Sam's Club is refunding the difference, you can ask if you bought it sale last month as well. Otherwise, this is a very very good price, lowest ever.

It's outstanding. I bought it for ease of clean up compared to a normal smoker, but it cooks everything perfectly and delivers outstanding smoke flavor. And the fact it's much cheaper to run is also great.

This is an outstanding price for the XL and on top of that you get a cover and some liners. I returned that Lowe's deal that was 148 in hopes we would see a price like this for this model.

Why did you return the Lowes deal, wasn't it the same as this one but for only $148?!

The Lowe's deal was for the smaller model. The XL is 30% bigger. On top of that this model is the wifi app model while the regular one is not. You also get several accessories in this one you don't on that regular one.
It's honestly all up to the personal preference of the buyer. I personally would of been upset wanting this more decked out version while keeping the other one even though you are spending close to twice as much

I've been eyeballing this for a while and finally picked one up.

It works great. I cook to temp much more than time and the temp probes integrated into the system & app works great. Speaking of the app, it's a really nice feature for cooking that is quickly spoiling me. The app isn't required as you can just use the grill itself but it's a very very nice feature to have.

The pellet smoker is very easy to use. Keep in mind that it's a pellet smoker so you are trading a small bit of true "smoking" for convivence as it is more of a smoke infused flavor but... the smoke flavor is still awesome imo. FYI the robust pellets it comes with are pretty dang strong, you may want to opt to different pellets like pecan.

The XL does have a good bit of space but if you are grilling for a large crowd you may end up needing more space. It obviously depends on what you are grilling but if you are doing it for more than 8-10 people then you are probably looking at multi grill sessions.

You are not going to get quite the sear that you get on gas or charcoal grills since it can't get as hot but it's close, I grilled some chicken thighs on in the other day and managed to get nice grill marks.

The grill plate is really easy to clean and the grill isn't that heavy so it's pretty easy to move around.

Overall, if you are looking to get into outdoor grilling I do recommend the unit. It's not going to fully replace a charcoal grill & wood chips but it's pretty damn close and you may find yourself using this far more that your other grills just due to the ease of use.

So far I have smoked & grilled chicken thighs, smoked salmon, grilled chicken breasts, grilled steaks and air fried chicken wings. Everything has turned out great! Probably doing ribs on it this weekend for the superbowl.

Just an fyi, you can buy charcoal pellets. Can't say I miss the charcoal grill after trying them. And probably some good pellets in general. This definitely gives a better smoke flavor than any pellet grill or smoker. Can't really taste much of a difference from an offset smoker at that.

This thing definitely gets to a temp to sear, I've had no trouble doing it. You don't want to go past 500F anyway or you're just going to burn your seasoning off. You'll get better contact though if you use the griddle plate instead. Unless you prefer the grill lines. This can totally replace a grill unless you're trying to cook for 30 people.

Just a heads up. I got Best Buy to price match Sam's. I did this because I have a Best Buy Total Membership, so that gives me 24 months of protection. If anyone has a membership as well, this may be a good option if you're concerned about malfunctions.

Could this be worth getting for the smoke aspect? I've got a gas grill with hookup to our house but love smoked meats.
