I saw this when I took the deal for the other version. I opted not to get thos one since it has 200+ more sodium and it already exceeds 1k in a single serving.

Just fyi, for anyone who has to be on low salt, this is the highest I've ever seen in a canned chili! 1 serving is 55% of daily values, and it's 3.5 servings per can!!! I thought there must be a mistake and googled the nutritional info to be sure, and it's correct... That's just nuts, that can gotta be half salt xD lol (j/k)

Good price. They are also 10 for $10 this week at Kroger if you have one nearby.

The sodium evens out when you add other ingredients. These are meant to be a starter for chili, for people who like beans in their chili.

"Makes 5 servings of chili"

"Just add tomatoes and protein"

Even if you double the beans & meat, that's still a lot... You'd need to quadruple the other ingredients at minimum to get it to even a slightly reasonable level... And you'd still be at least half your daily value of sodium from about 1/4 of finished product after adding, still a very high amount of sodium, and that's assuming you don't add anything else that's adds any sodium...

The "classic homestyle" flavor is also on sale and I do see an S&S option for that one.

edit: Never mind, it's gone now.

Just checked, their directions would end up with about 38.5% of your daily value of sodium in a single serving if you don't add anything else that has any sodium in it.

And only about 3,000 milligrams of sodium in a can of this. Kind of like a salt-lick in a can.....

4,445mg of salt is too much I think, yes, I'd eat the entire can. Serving sizes are so unrealistic.
