YMMV: It's back but $50 more than last month's deal of $999 but still a great deal when you consider the specs and build quality — all aluminum!

Exact specs I'm looking for except for the WiFi card, I'm surprised this doesn't have WiFi 7. It appears the card is soldered and cannot be upgraded either.

It's less powerful than the RTX 4050, but it capable at gaming at 1080p medium settings. Probably OK for routine CAD work.

It should be fine al long as you are doing large assemblies or have the realistic rendering turned on. I was able to use solidworks on a old 8th gen i7 with an igpu so if that worked then this would definitely work.

I got to try one in-person. I'm not convinced by the build quality tbh, it felt like the chassis was too thin and potentially prone to bending.

Also, the iGPU offers about half the compute and speed of a 4050 in most games (specifically, in 90% of today's games, the 4050 offers 180-250% of the average FPS, as per NotebookCheck). Which is still impressive for a iGPU, don't get me wrong. Since you didn't specify a particular CAD program, I'd recommend researching your particular CAD program(s) more thoroughly to answer that question.

Great deal. This is one of the best screens you can get on a laptop, everything looks great on a 3k OLED. The processor is probably the best mobile processor right now, go look up benchmarks for the HX 370. Also, it can run most games at 1080p low settings at 60 fps, and 120 fps if you use frame generation. The best thing for me is I can use UXTU to lock the TDP to 12w and run all my games at 1080p 30fps on battery power and get hours of mobile gaming on it, which I've used to replace my steam deck. Build quality, keyboard, and touchpad are good as far as I can tell.
