expensive imo. I was expecting price to come down to low 200 for solar 45mm instinct 2 with the release of instinct 3.

actually, This price isn't bad, but not slick. Solar usually runs $100 more on all lines of Garmin watches. Wink I got the Instinct 2 non solar camo for $170 the other week. Love the watch, but thought I should have gotten a Solar version. After 2 weeks of heavy use, I found I really don't need it. My battery, under heavy use, lasts around 16 days. only takes about an hour or less to charge back up. I keep it on my wrist 24/7(except for showers) and use it for a 2mile jog and 6 mile bike ride(daily). I also use it to monitor my sleep patterns. Yes, I would prefer the Fenix 7 or Epix 2 but I am extremely happy for the price I paid Wink

That's pretty awesome! I was really close to buying one for sleep monitoring a while back and found some sources that no one has it quite perfected yet.

Are you happy with the data you get sleep wise? I've got sleep apnea and would love to be able to track what is going on 02 wise at night.

But since apple eats the battery up daily…

In a month or so youll be able to get the I3 for $320. Id pay maybe $200 for the I2. The i2x is also still good - on par with the i3 if you like the style better.

The "garmin connect" app on my phone gives me my deep sleep, light sleep, REM and awake times. I am very happy with the sleep app. It gives me more info than my friends sleep apnea device. The sleep function ties in with the "body battery" monitor(shows your readiness level throughout the day). I find if I go out drinking, my sleep score goes down to 30's and non drinking nights it goes up to 90 to 100(probably mostly having to get up and pee 3 times throughout the night Frown ). Watch the youtube videos on it. I would love to have the Epix2 or Fenix 7/8, but I am too "frugal" for those prices. I also looked at the "used" pictues on facebook and those two watches seem to get dinged up much easier than the Instinct 2 models.

Mine didn't hold up. The electronic compass is unusable despite calibration, firmware updates, and new band pins. When rotating, the compass skips over west and jumps from north to south with no numbers in between. I have training in surveying and orienteering.
