Ordered twice from aliexpress.com. I live in FL; the first time, the item was delivered to New Jersey, and the second time to Santiago, Chile. Foo aliexpress.com.
A slight upgrade from a 5800X. For an upgrade, if you need threads used 12-core 3900X is about this price and a 3700x is half. For gaming a tray 5700X3D is about this price and a used 5600 is about half.
Waiting for that AliExpress deal to come back

Seems like a good processor to build a budget mid-grade gaming/work PC with all the PC part deals.

I'll tell you the 5700x3d blows this cpu out of the water for gaming. I upgraded from a ryzen 5 3600 to the 3xd and I only have an rtx 3050 and it made a giant upgrade. I play BeamNG drive and went from 20fps in a packed server to 60-80fps

But buying from aliexpress has its risks. Make sure you're buying from a seller who has a long track record and sells lots and lots of CPUs.

Hah, what? It's just a slightly faster 5800X. Of course it was compatible with 11. Besides that, those compatibility lists mean nothing now - you could still install Windows 11 unofficially on older hardware before, but in December Microsoft officially removed those CPU restrictions. They couldn't force most of the world to get new PCs to stay on a patched OS.

We'll see in a few years if it ever actually becomes a problem, but that's doubtful.

I ordered a 5700x3d for $143 from AliExpress. The most important thing when ordering from there is check the ratings of the seller. I got it from "Computer Hardware Global Store" and it came exactly as expected. I also used a filler item to use a $20 off 159 coupon.

As of August 2021, the officially supported list of processors includes eighth generation Intel Core CPUs (Coffee Lake) and later, AMD Zen+ CPUs/APUs and later (which include the "AF" revisions of Ryzen 1000 CPUs, which are underclocked Zen+ CPUs that supplant Ryzen 1000 parts that could no longer be manufactured due to a change in process), and Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 and later. The compatibility list includes the Intel Core i7-7820HQ, a seventh-generation processor used by the Surface Studio 2, although only on devices that shipped with DCH-based drivers.
You have to be really out of the loop to think a Zen 3 CPU is not officially supported by Windows 11. It's only the first generation of Ryzen that is cut. Those users should consider upgrading to Zen 2/3 if their motherboard supports it.

I had trouble installing Windows 11 on a 7th gen intel due to cpu/memory restrictions and did a regedit during install to get around it.

I think there's 3 things it looks at and I ended up doing the bypass for all 3. Downloaded the media install tool last month as well. Hopefully not as much of a hassle for others.
