I have the same question about it being managed or not. I have bought from Newegg many times before and that I am sure is activated directly with Microsoft. This Buydig deal is new to me so need to make sure I can stack with my existing subscription.

In the past, Microsoft subscriptions overwrote the current subscription. If you have family and purchase personal, it extends your duration by the full amount (15 months here) but converts your entire subscription to personal. It also always worked in reverse. I always would purchase personal subscriptions plus 1 family, activate all personals first, and the family last so it converts the entire thing to family for the full amount of each term combined.

This used to work for GamePass tiers, but no longer. I am curious if MS has killed this capability in Office, too.
In the past - when? Surely not the last 6- 8 years I've used that product

You talking nonsense. That's never been the case.

These should be stackable as the New Egg deal and it's not managed by BuyDig.

Anybody know what the 15-month personal converts to for family?
Personal no longer converts to family. It used to be something like 9/12s. Now if you buy personal, it only can be put on a personal. The same with family.

I had a long chat with MS support to find out they took that capability away.

This also seems to tack on a free "Tech Smart USA Elite Suite 18 Standard Editing Software Bundle [buydig.com]" which includes:
  • MOVAVI PDF Editor
  • MOVAVI Photo Editor
  • Mobisystems OfficeSuite (pretty funny to include this with Office 365)
  • Laplink PC Mover Professional

What happened when you tried to add the Personal code to the family account?
When did that happen? I just did it last week the day after they made the Copilot announcement. That sucks I still have 2 old personal codes.

Updated: I just tried an old 12-month personal code I bought last year and it applied to my family and added 9 months to it. I'm not sure if newer personal codes will have an issue.

Per an old thread in '21
"Bought two for myself and I was able to stack them without a problem. It's just kind of silly that they shipped two pieces of printed out codes on plain ol' paper placed in a 6X6" box with bubble wrap."

How is the purchase delivered? Email?

I purchased one about ten minutes ago and got a receipt, but haven't seen any codes yet.
Havent gotten mine either yet, assuming they will show up via email eventually

I was looking to give up my Google one since I hit the 200GB limit and don't want to get the 2TB limit for $10. Personal should be fine for my usage but I am leaning towards family since it offers 6TB to be shared between me and wife. I need it mainly for photos/videos and want to move my entire stuff from Google photos

I was thinking of going the NAS route but this seems to be a good temporary solution. I am guessing people who have 365, do not have NAS or consider it as an additional backup ?

Nope. It doesn't work that way. This is a 12 month subscription with a 3 month extension if you turn on auto-renew. If you add a Personal to a Family sub, you will only get 9 months instead of 12. I don't remember if you get the 3 month extension to 12 months.
It's a decent deal, especially with prices going up. I was holding out for a bundle with Nord VPN, but might have to pop on this.

So I was fairly certain that this was platform agnostic, Mac/PC/whatever, but then in system requirements on the store page near the bottom, it says that Mac has to have an Intel chip set? I believe that's a typo, but can anyone verify this? I need this for an M3 MacBook Pro, and therefore not Intel.

Stock up folks! List price just increased by ALOT ($129.99/yr). You can stack these in your account for multiple years of guaranteed low prices.
Could you please be so kind and explain to me how that works? Right now I have office 365 through godaddy for my business. It's way more than this... can I stack this on top of that and if so.. what or how do I do it? Thank you
