It is a low quality cheap design. It does not cook evenly and has some timer quirks. Should really be a $99 appliance.

I got this from Walmart over 10 years ago and it's still running strong. Solid machine. When it fails, I'll probably buy the same thing. Highly recommend.

That is amazing! Good for you! How often do you use it? Daily? I have never heard of anyone having a microwave last over 15 years. No repairs? Panasonic should use you as a commercial and give you a free one.
Probably 3x a day, easy. My wife absolutely hates it, because she wants to get something smaller (which will probably last 4yrs). It's one of my most prized possessions Wink

No repairs, but I did take the cover off a couple times over the last 25yrs (I bought it used) to clean out the dust from the fan.

Far too many comments about uneven heating, with food stone cold in the center and hot around the edges, terrible control panel & UI, cheap build quality, difficult to open door and how the model this one replaced was far superior in cooking/reheating food evenly.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a better microwave in this price range with 1200 watts of power?
I can confirm that this microwave does heat unevenly and the steam didn't escape well from the unit. I returned it for the larger 1.6 cu ft Panasonic unit from Costco. For an extra $40-50 it is way better overall and has no heating issues. It was on sale for $149.99 back in March of 2024, but it's full price right now at $189.99.

I bought two of these in the past and both have failed for same reason. The issue is with the push-in button to open the door. Do not buy these current Panasonic models. Buy either Sharp or Toshiba models. I picked up open-box Sharp model this time, but also like Toshiba models too.

Well that's in perspective as saying why pay $300 for a Dan Henry 1972 Maverick Chronograph when you can get a watch for $40 at Walmart.

* A stainless steel 1.3 Brand New Microwave with Inverter Technology for $50~$60???
Link Please.
I would just buy Kenmore 1000W countertop microwave for $47 [ebay.com] and call it a day. Actually I bought a B&D 1100w from the same seller for $53. Arrived in new condition and still running like a champ. But hey, if you want to pay 2-3 times more for an inverter microwave, then by all means, knock yourself out.

You meant from target. Haha. Nonetheless, there are people who like to buy basic amana dishwasher and those who prefer the bosch 800. Let them spend $ the way they find it worthy.

I have this for about 4years now. Zero complaints however one odd - there is no quick one button heat option, even for 30 sec you have to select 30 and click start.

Yes, that is Target overstock and open box.

I have a fancy LG microwave installed above my oven and a Bosch dishwasher, However, for just an extra countertop microwave, I don't need anything fancy. I'm saving about $100 with what I got. IMO, there's not enough of an advantage of having the one that costs almost 3x as much. Not knocking anybody who wants this one, but there may be others who would prefer a less expensive option that may not be quite as good, but is close.

We have had this microwave for about 3 years, it works okay. One thing I miss compared to our old Sharp is the turntable does not finish cooking at the same location as it started, meaning if you put a cup of water to heat up with the handle facing outward the Panasonic turntable stops where the time finishes and usually the handle is facing some random direction and not outward.

i have owned a similar model Panasonic and it has lasted more years than i remember. And, the inverter seems to improve the functionality in my experience. When i need a new one it will likely be a Panasonic.

Spend 4 times as much for the 4-in-1 Panasonic. You can thank me later.

499 now, but I paid 421 a few months ago. Worth every penny at 499.

No, but we can all not buy when the price is high and it will go lower.
