Take note, this is not the "plus" model. Whether or not the "plus" features matter to you or not, that's up to you. in fact most people buying this for emergency backup probably don't care about the below differences and are shopping mostly based on Wh capacity and price

The "plus" model adds:
-UPS support with USB cable
-extra solar input

If you can combine the $549 flash price with a -$100 EcoCredits coupon (I don't know, haven't tried and haven't kept up with the forever growing exclusion list that EcoFlow makes for their joke rewards program)....
but if you can..... now you're looking at $449 which is more where this should be or even a little lower.

If you aren't in a rush though. you may be better off just waiting for the "plus" model to drop more in price....prices are on the decline. We may see $499 for the "plus" model very shortly

since solar panels can be had for cheap if you shop around, it is worth it to get the delta 3 plus version with two solar inputs over this plain delta 3. btw, the delta 3 plus was just $540.94 at wellbots (no tax in my state), so this is not a good deal when you can get the plus model for a bit cheaper. this would be ok at $429-$449, but not $549.

also, correct me if i am wrong, but the delta 3 plus has 140w usb c ports, and this regular delta 3 only 100w. so the delta 3 (non plus) is gimped in a few ways.

also, i should point out, the extra pv (solar) input on the plus model does not have to be used only for solar. you can get a cheap off brand battery 12v - 48v, and plug it into the solar input with the proper adapter wire. having two inputs means you can charge the delta 3 plus with your extra battery or battery bank and solar at the same time. with only one input you are limited to solar or external battery, but not both at the same time. or you could use the two inputs on the delta 3 plus with a split cable to charge at 500w x 2, charging up your delta 3 plus from an external battery twice as fast as the plain delta 3.

so, even if you do not plan on doing solar, the extra xt60 input is very useful to have available.

Suggest everyone try out the Trade-in process if you were an early supporter of Ecoflow and you want a little bit of credit for those now mostly useless units you have. I've done it twice and you get a non-expiring gift card for future use (although not a lot, but any little bit counts). You do have to send back units but the good news is there are some units on that list where you can get the credit but you don't have to send it back. the bad news is it takes forever so plan ahead (2-3 months).

Xt60 charge only one ,not two. So just 500W max,not 1000W max

the delta 3 plus has two 500w XT60i inputs, the delta 3 has only one. so, unless i am mistaken can charge 500w with one input on delta 3, and 1000w on delta 3 plus using both inputs, using two solar, or two external batteries or one battery spliced into two xt60i, or solar + battery, etc.

Yes, for some needs, the 500W and 1000W XT inputs are still sufficient. For example, if you use a 110V window air conditioner in your RV, the output power is 700-900W, which is not enough for anyone, but the 1000W input can solve this problem, and the cheap battery pack can be supplemented through the XT interface.

I went to their website and got a popup for a $50 coupon for a "solar generator bundle" if I sign up for their email. I don't want to burn the coupon if I'm not ready to pull the trigger. Anyone know what "bundle" I need to buy or will it apply if I only get the Delta 3 Plus?

Also, does that website charge for shipping within US? Shipping will likely kill the deal.

Also, where can I get info on the "$100 EcoCredits coupon" mentioned in post #2 above?

Since solar panels don't always produce the max watts due to shading, angle, etc., could I plug say 2,000 Watts of panels to it since panels are relatively inexpensive? Goal is to produce the 1,000W max continuous charging to the D3P. Is the built in charge controller able to "disregard" the excess wattage input when the panels produce more than 1,000W?

yes, there is a 500 watt cap or limit on each input (delta 3 plus. only one input on regular delta 3). you can overpanel if you want, just as long as you absolutely do not exceed the 60 volt limit per input, and remember, the mc4 connectors are limited to 30 amps.

for instance, you can hook four 400 watt panels to the delta 3 plus, two in parallel on each input, for a total of 1600 watts, but when it's clear and sunny the max the delta 3 plus will take in, is 500 on each side, for a total of 1000 watts.

so, let's say all four panels are facing the same direction and are in full sun, producing the same full output, it will be clipped to 250 x 4 (1000 watts), even though they could potentially output 1600 watts total in full sun. it won't hurt anything, the unit will simply draw as much current (500 watts x 2) from the panels as it will allow.

overpaneling will net you more solar in cloudy and overcast situations. you will be able to up your solar intake by adding more panels, because you will not be reaching the capped limit of 500 watts.

***edit: i forgot to clarify, i am talking about the delta 3 plus, which has two pv (or dc) inputs. the delta 3 only has one pv input for a max of 500 watts.
