And with physical media, it will at least hold some value. so yes, sports games generally lose a lot of value but something like Crash Bandicoot 4 for 15 bucks, gimmie the physical, it will always be worth that or more potentially in the future

Look what retro games cost now

But how do you explain old sport games like Madden 18? It didn't hold any value. Maybe $5 but it isn't anything better. Look at NFL 2k5, the highly appraised game as another example that don't commend high value

Having a physical game means you can let someone use it, or give it away. With a digital game that person has to digitally get their own. The only faction that benefits from all digital media are the companies. They just convince you it's more convenient or it's less cluttered. The other day I wanted to watch moneyball and it was not on any of the streaming services without buying it. I went to our local cd game exchange and bought a used Blu-ray for 5 bucks. Why am I paying for these services and still be at the whims of when they want to let me watch it without paying extra?

Rosters change. Gamers want to use the players that are current and hot. They are players that play retro but the group is small and you won't be getting a game online. Once that new version is out the support for the previous version disappears.
