About the Game:
  • As Edith, you'll explore the colossal Finch house, searching for stories as she explores her family history and tries to figure out why she's the last one in her family left alive. Each story you find lets you experience the life of a new family member on the day of their death, with stories ranging from the distant past to the present day.
  • The gameplay and tone of the stories are as varied as the Finches themselves. The only constants are that each is played from a first-person perspective and that each story ends with that family member's death.
  • Ultimately, it's a game about what it feels like to be humbled and astonished by the vast and unknowable world around us.
  • Winner of Best Game at the 2018 BAFTA Game Awards, as well as Best Narrative awards at the GDC 2018 Choice Awards, 2018 SXSW Gaming Awards, and The Game Awards 2017.
  • Number of players: Single System (1)
  • Genre: Adventure
  • ESRB rating: Teen

This game was really good imo. Had creepy vibes but never felt like a horror. This is an easy buy at 5. Wish they didn't remove it from game pass.
FWIW I don't think there was very much replayability with it.
Beautiful game, I still think about it years later.

Opened my eyes to video games being a powerful storytelling medium. Not sure how it plays on Switch though.
One of my favorite games ever. Totally worth it at any price.

I have played it as well. Pros: Amazing story and game play is not fast paced so you don't have to worry about how fast you can mash buttons. It's one of those games that is intended on leaving an impression on the player. Cons: Short with little replayability. You can easily go through the entire game in a couple of hours, maybe shorter, if you want. Once you go through the entire story, you don't really feel the need or desire to do it again unless it's several years later and want to see it again. At it's release price, I think it used to be $35 or so on Xbox which is way over priced. $5 is a solid price for it and you won't regret it.

I "watched" this game a couple years ago. No gameplay, just a story. Seemed like I just clicked the next button and listened to somebody talk. Not very long either, a couple hours and its over.

This game is amazing and should be only experienced in a PS5 or Xbox X. Playing on switch is criminal

Its a walking simulator but IMO its the very very best example of that type of game. If you think you'll like it, you'll probably love it. If you don't think you'll like it (based off the type of game it is), you probably won't. Disagree on replayability, the detail of the house and the world is so rich and deep and the special (no spoilers) playable segments are so unique and enjoyable that its well worth a replay once in a while, just to revisit the story and the world and to see something new. One of my fave gaming experiences ever FWIW.

This game was pretty good. Definitely a walking simulator to tell a story, but it was enjoyable. Took me about 3 hours to get through the game, and I think I did something quickly in a second playthrough to get all the achievements.

Minor Spoiler:
IDK how to do spoiler tags here. The scene with the bathtub got me as I had just had my first kid.

Great game/story, but its a simple one. No fighting/action/etc, you navigate through Edith's House discovering what happened to Edith. Good relaxing experience
