The manual only talks about a 16gb config. But I have used laptops where the service manual only talks about 16gb of ram, and have been able to upgradeable to at least 32gb. There was a Dell 14" on SD last week from best buy. The service manual was the same, it only talked about upgrading to 16gb of RAM, but if you looked in the Q&A section of the Best Buy listing, somebody said they were able to put 64 GB of RAM in. I may be wrong, but I think its a safe assumption for laptops from the past 2 years to say that if it has 2 physical memory slots, it should be able to go up to at least 32gb.

I got this one with an i5 some months back, the display was terrible. And for several other reasons I returned it. However, consider that this is a $250 device, you get a $250 class display. Washed out, not particularly super high res. Not great. But it's cheap.

I have the i5 version, installed 32 g ram, then the laptop was not turning on anymore, have to do an exchange. Install 16, then it is good

Very bad hinges. Mine snapped after a year of light use. It's on a desk 99% of the time and only used a few times a week. Luckily I had a week of warranty left so Dell fixed it. I recalibrated the hinge tension so it's looser now and hopefully won't snap as easily.

I agree with you. I assume the laptop from the past two years would handle 64G.
I have HP laptop from 2019 with only 1 ram slot. All the specs, all the info in the web say the max ram is 16G for the one slot. They say the motherboard won't handle 32G and the bios won't handle it.
As I had doubt, I ordered a single 32G RAM and it works perfectly.
