Really poor product!
Care to elaborate?
Because a bulb-style camera for under $15 that doesn't need for-pay services to record and can also do rtsp seems pretty decent to me.

I was also excited so I got 2 for $9 each. Unfortunately, they are not ideal replacements for light bulbs if you need good lighting in addition to camera functionality. The cameras lose connectivity to router very easily. To alleviate the issue, I got a WiFi extender to connect about 15 feet away. Even then cameras lost connectivity. Only way to restore connectivity was to reset the camera and start over EVERY TIME. I returned both to Amazon.

To be clear, it doesn't do RTSP out of the box, and the only person here who's claimed to have it working hasn't replied to multiple requests for more information. As far as I can tell, the custom firmware that supposedly enables it requires the thing to be disassembled and requires another device to clip onto the board to flash the new firmware. I ordered four, have received two so far, and am holding off on a return in case someone can clarify/simplify the firmware flashing procedure. Otherwise, it's not worth the hassle to me compared with buying a more expensive camera that supports RTSP without hackery.

I bought this model from Amazon in August and it's been working fine. You just have to contact customer service, and they will send you the firmware to allow RTSP and ONVIF. You don't have to open it up to flash it (unless they changed something since I ordered it).

I have 2 of these and they both have the same issue. they will follow left and right but not up and down. Anyone have a fix for this? Tech support was very nice and sent a replacement but same issue. Anyone know the fix for this?

Might be worth it as a cheap cam to check on my laundry in the basement.... Anyone find an easier or cheaper solution so I know when my laundry is done?

Cheaper, certainly -- get up and go downstairs. 😅

Isn't this routinely the same price at Amazon? I love Microcenter but it's not worth the hour round trip if I can get this in a few days via Amazon Prime.

These are 2.4Ghz only products, so as mentioned before.... You may need a 2.4Ghz network to connect them reliably. As I already said, some other IoT devices I've used will not reliably stay connected to a mixed network. This may be one of those. You should probably run these on an isolated VLAN anyway, so just make sure your IoT VLAN is 2.4Ghz.

And yes, this isn't going to be as good as a normal light bulb, but that shouldn't surprise anyone. It's not really meant to be, it just conveniently fits in the same locations and offers some minimal replacement of that functionality.

The person in this thread wasn't the only one. Someone else on reddit said the same but tbf it was an older post and also didn't provide much in the way of instruction besides to contact the mfr for a firmware update. That person didn't perform any surgery and certainly didn't need to attach any hardware to the bulb's internal logic boards. It was just a standard firmware flash.
I can't find it now of course, but this 3rd party page lists rtsp access for that model Laview camera - https://www.ispyconnect.com/camera/laview

And information on a very similar cam where another person did the same here - https://slickdeals.net/f/17109100-18-92-laview-4mp-bulb-security-camera-2-4ghz-360-2k-security-cameras-wireless-outdoor-indoor-full-color-day-and-night-motion-detection-audible-alarm-compatible-with-alexa
