I had these installed since the previously deal about a month or so ago. I've been pretty happy with them. Couple of helpful things for people to know:

(1) They can support SD cards greater than 128 GB (as the instructions state); you need simply format the larger SD Card in FAT32 (not exFat or NTFS).

(2) They also support ONVIF if (a) you request the firmware update from LaView support and (b) you follow the instructions they give. You will lose the "Body Recognition" option if you update the firmware to ONVIF. Also, the update allows for RTSP according to LaView.

(3) I synced it up with a Synology NAS running Surveillance Station and it works fine. You only get 2 licenses with a Synology NAS (and you need 1 license per camera), so you'll need to purchase more licenses if you plan on more than 2 cameras.

(4) The cameras have night viewing by 3 different methods: (1) "starlight/color mode" which doesn't use any of the onboard LEDs, (2) "Color Smart w/ Spotlight" which does use a White LED light to aid the illumination, and (3) Smart Mode (which appears to be a black /white option with a spotlight).

(5) They record, according to LaView, about 6GB per day (per camera) should you have the camera set to "record non-stop" instead of "event recording". So be sure to plan your SD card size accordingly.

And

(6) You can turn off the "status light" from being illuminated so that it's not possible see the camera at night when it's activated.

As I said, I've been pretty happy with them.

Edit: There are two models of this light and the only difference is the firmware. The newer model/firmware is: v2.79.714 . The older model with older firmware is: v.2.76.697. You want, obviously, the one with the newer firmware.

Price for the single is listed at $29.57 when I just checked. At that price the better deal is the 2 pack.

I didn't want a wifi camera but at this price ill give it a try. The POE cameras are getting expensive because of all the cable I have to run.

i like the camera. It just works. But for some reason, not entirely sure why, every other week the app says my camera is offline. Then it never connects unless i power cycle the camera.

So I am a little dumb in this area, but to be clear, you need an Amazon (e.g., Echo Show) or Google device to make it work, right? Like, this thing doesn't work alone, correct?

No, this does not require an Amazon or Google device but it is compatible. You can run/monitor the cam through LaView own app. Recording is through an SD card inserted directly into the camera, and I think LaView sells a cloud plan. Also, apparently you can request firmware from LaView customer service which will enable ONVIF in settings.

These are great for the price. Not perfect resolution to id someone 40 ft away but when near door or near house, images are good for police use as well as video. Provided footage to delivery services for poor handling, ie throwing/dropping packages

use indoors to keep an eye on pets and have evidence for break INS.

btw can use code to get at 18.92 multiple times, just need to buy 1 at a time.

i had the laview 8 camera with hard drive system for a decade+ until moving to T-Mobile Internet that doesn't allow port forwarding. these are perfect and work independently with their app. they've been around for a while.

avoid temu ones or other off brands, they are klunky and don't work well from user perspective. plus their servers could shut down quickly.

yes, these use memory cards so thieves can take the footage but if you have many cameras they won't get them all.

i have 128gb in them. they will fill and then overwrite. i do have one that failed to overwrite and went to zero available. so to avoid issues i format them remotely once a month .
